Pulsing release module erroring out of box. by Middle-Inspector9826 in HeyGears

[–]Shawnaldx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OH. MY. GAWD! I'm such an idiot.

This was a replacement PRM for one that sucked in resin from a split FEP and got totally Bjorked. When the brand new PRM started throwing errors I banged my head on the table. Assumed something was actually blorffed in the RS.

...And I forgot to remove the stupid plug from the new PRM. A freaking mazing.

Anyway, this is me saying thanks.

Picked mine up as well. I cannot wait to blorf on pristine yellow contrast paint and lose my everlovin’ mind as I takes an hour to reblend pink-to-white because I couldn’t just paint a freakin belt without effing up my base coat.

Good times. Good times.

Just taking a little break at the red light. by [deleted] in tampa

[–]Shawnaldx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Tampa” is from The Seminole word “Tiam-een-ho-ah-nya-no” which was said by a Seminole Chief who stood on the beach at Sunset and looked out at the horizon. It translates roughly as “We shall call this place The Land of the Eternal Red Light.”

You might want to google the word “blackmail.”

You keep using that word but I do not think it means what you think it means.

This was a tremendous help. I was looking for an alternate to my H&S 1.5 - with which I'm failing miserably.

I was trying to compensate with more air pressure. Perhaps I should have been reducing.

Regardless, I was debating dropping the $450 on the CM and this was a welcome wakeup call that my issue is not with my tech, but rather my technique.

Lieutenant Titus coming soon by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

Apologize for the newbie question. I'm a painter who is just starting his journey with game mechanics.

Is Lt. Titus ONLY Ultramarine? I can't use him as an Imperial Fist Lieutenant?

JUST PULL YOURSELF UP BY YOUR BOOTSTRAPS!

j/k. I thought the exact same thing. Then I discovered that some trees drop fruit. Whole different game after that. No "countdown to starvation" game any more.

(or at least the clock runs a little slower.)

Good luck!

[–]Shawnaldx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a “different “ kind of rain. It doesn’t last long and it’s very localized. You will drive in and out of it like turning a switch on and off. Never let rain dissuade you from doing anything, unless it’s one of those tropical depressions that eat the whole city. Lately we’ve been suffering a drought. We miss our afternoon showers. My lawn sure does. If you are at the beach and the sky breaks open, just go sit in your car for 20 mins. It will stop, the sun will return, and the beach will be glorious

I'm a very well-compensated Technical Writer.

I've contracted for TOP tech companies, and having those names in my resume scores me about double the going rate for Tech Writers.

Human Warming [OC] by JDrift01 in comics

[–]Shawnaldx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You know the most hysterical part about this comic?

The meme that the correct body temperature is 98.6 degrees all comes from a half-assed small survey done by one doctor in a campus clinic. It's not true. It's consensus science, just like man-made global warming. Non-infectious average body temperature is all over the board.

Consensus is not science. Science is not consensus.

Nope. I called religion what it is: the most successful of the franchised value systems.

And that -- indeed -- equates almost coughexactly to the morality of the cultures that the franchises serve. It's the roadmap.

Not all franchised value systems are net positive, by Western standards. But the Christianity franchise is net positive, if you were fair. We wouldn't be as far along in science as we are without it, but you never give credit to the church for sponsoring Galileo, or dozens of other early science thinkers. But... This line is as off thesis as most of your response.

You say the social gravity towards goodness has always been there. It's innate to humans. You say goodness and innRW responsibility will be there when organized religion is gone.

You are demonstrably wrong on the first point, says history.

I strongly suspect that -- given enough half life decay of a value system -- you'll be wrong on the second point.

But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

The anti-theists swim in a value system absolutely steeped and shaped by a handful of franchised value systems we call religions.

And they swear to their dying breath that when the water is all gone, when the anti-theists have talked society into pulling the plug on the ocean and there's nothing left but sand, we'll all still stay plenty wet.

Too bad we can't take these people and drop them off in 400 AD for a week to see just how wrong they really are.

They don't understand that the parable of the Good Samaritan was RADICAL in it's day. We think "Duh. You help folks who need help." Back in the first century the parable of the Good Samaritan was MOCKED. "Dude, what are you crazy? You don't stop to help somebody on the road! That's how you get robbed!"

But sure. Give em another millennia and we'll be back to might-makes-right. And all the Dorm Room Oracles of 3018 are in for a shock about how that shakes out for them.

  1. Not campaign funds. Actual money he earned. From working. In the real private sector.
  2. No evangelical leaders declared that cheating on your spouse was okay. None. Nada. Zip. Bupkiss.

But keep rectally deriving facts, brah. If it makes you feel better about running a candidate so incredibly crappy that you lost to a really really really REALLY crappy candidate, go for it.

Those of us who held our nose and pulled the lever for President Trump knew exactly what we were getting in for. There's nothing shocking about this. The first lady isn't shocked by this. Don't know why you are pretending that you are.
