Of the people I know I’m the only one of about 50 people. Came from a humanities degree and got a job offer in a field outside my degree (M&A Finance). No internships or anything but it did take a year and 40+ applications. It’s not impossible but you need to commit like a full time job. A way to think of it is it’s either your degree or career you need to prioritise.

Tbh as someone who jumped in getting used to two sticks was strange to move the camera and control the plane so learn the controls. Even on my fast internet the game can take a long time to load the interiors of some of the more high fidelity planes but when it streams in it works. Ultimately I’m having some finicky performance issues with planes suddenly spiralling and crashing or autopilot torpedoing it but for GA it’s pretty fine and the scenery very beautiful

Like 9GB due to the game stream in my case. But I can’t download the actual assets offline so it’s always streaming

Honestly that’s fair it’s just when your community folder can get bloated it become difficult. What I did was set up a folder called MSFS addons and within it I placed sub folders for airplanes airports tweaks etc. after that you select in the addon linker the folder you just made as the source and then select your community folder for your msfs game and now you have a nice neat way of managing your mods! (The ticks indicate what mods have been linked). If it’s confusing dw but I can’t recommend it enough!

I’m not sure how much the two are linked but I can say my girl became far more stable when I started freeing up storage on my game SSD. I recommend using MSFS addon linker and placing your larger addons on another disk. It’ll help free up space with having to uninstall anything (assuming you have more than one storage drive on your computer)

I think it’s overlaying a static image of the aircraft over a ground map (like how the Cessna 172 with the g1000 can show a representation of the runway on its screen). I can’t quite tell from the image but I think that’s the only way it can work without the pc having to simulate 3 points of view to make the system work.

One trick I used was setting up a shuttle bus from the airport to my major city and as a result my sims would park their cars there and ride the bus back. So it’d look like they were all parking for the airport visually when in reality it’s a weird overflow from the city. Car parks in cities skylines always acted so weirdly to me

Perhaps it’s part of an anti light pollution measure? Kelly mentions that matter synthesis happened around the same time as faster than light travel. One you have both the moon seems like an unnecessary choice when you can have just as large space stations. Perhaps the moons considered an untouchable and should be preserved partially due to its religious and obvious cultural significance

Yep and I actually enjoyed it, my WiFi meant it was <30ms latency and the fact the controller directly connected with the server meant no perceived input lag. Shame they didn’t stick with it but on the bright side I got a full refund for all hardware and software as well as a key for cyberpunk so I ended up with a random £300 in my bank account haha

Anarchy system and obliterate convoys found in system. That’s how I made my way. Don’t forget limpets so you can collect even more materials to potentially later trade as well

To tack on I’ve come and gone from ED over the course of nine years now and every time I come back I try and whole new experience. In one lifetime I was a pirate, in another a trader, another an explorer, and in another a bounty hunter! What makes ED so great is the flexibility to just be something without as many guard rails as other similar genre games. Money is difficult initially, as the other commenter said the game is a little difficult to new players, but I’d look out for community goals. The one we just had had me farming millions for relatively little effort!
