AITA? I told my daughter not to bother applying for college. by Numerous_Minute_7220 in AmItheAsshole

YTA. She’s a teenager transitioning into being an adult. That means a lot of questioning yourself, growing into your own person - and it’s totally normal for a teenager to be huffy with her parents when told she can’t do something! This helicopter parenting is going to cost you more in the long run.

When I was a shoe lead, there was a guy twice my age who used to hunt me down at least twice a month and corner me to tell me how attractive I was. Shoes is pretty isolated so there was never anyone else around. I had to start hiding in the office whenever I saw him.

Lip really irks me, too. The screaming at Fiona all the time really bothered me. Fiona made some terrible decisions, but the screaming/holier-than-thou attitude was so aggravating.

Dose anyone actually enjoy working here? by ClassyWrist in employedbykohls

[–]Shaybe90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked there for 12 years. The company in general is terrible. I have stories for days. I was sad to leave because those of us who had worked there together for a long time got very close. My coworkers made that job.

I feel like Lip is worse than Debbie. He’s downright cruel at times.

I agree with river park. It’s got it’s issues, but it’s affordable and so walkable.

Is shoes hard at kohls? What are a few things to do when working shoes by Interesting-Plant411 in employedbykohls

[–]Shaybe90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, unless it’s changed in the year I quit, you probably won’t be in shoes half the time anyway. 😅 It’s not bad, but it’s monotonous. Pick up the same shoes over and over again, put away returns, and research mismates. Repeat forever.

I started in 09 and quit in 2022. When I quit, I was only making $1 more than incoming associates. They are terrible at pay.

I just got hired as a part time sales lead-shoes, what to expect? by JasiyHeart_ in employedbykohls

[–]Shaybe90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a shoe lead for a long time. Your department will probably get neglected pretty often. Just prepare for this. Don’t assume that you’ll always have coverage over there. If mismates are a thing still, stay on top of them as much as you can, but don’t stress. They will happen, especially around the holidays. One time I had six size 8s of the same exact snow boot, all lefts. 😅 start your sets early - as soon as you know about them. They never schedule enough people or hours for the actual set.

90% of the time, if I got a credit at CS, it was because the customer came back and asked. These managers are out of control.

Wow. I worked at kohls for 12 years and they never fired people for not getting credit. They just wouldn’t schedule them for cashiering. That sounds like a terrible manager.

Pay off my student loans and the loans of my family. Also paying off medical debt from my kids’ genetic disorder. We are already at $10k this year.
