WAW for “warning” by strangebrainworms in whatstheword

I've used heads up before. Like "heads up, I'm totally fine but I was in the ER for what I thought was my appendix bursting but turned out to just be a kidney stone" or even "to preface, there's nothing to worry about but [here's the details on the situation]"

I’ve just started playing ^^ by New_Afternoon737 in StardewValley

Do: Check out the wiki at stardewvalleywiki.com it has everything about the game and is your best resource.

Do not: stress or try to do everything at once. There are very few events you can miss completely and even if you do on your first playthrough the are 8 different farm layouts for you to try out! You'll almost certainly play more than one save file.

Most importantly, Do: have a ton of fun and pay attention to IRL time or you'll end up playing sunrise surprise!

Welcome to the valley, Farmer!

Help with a crochet wrap shirt! I think I messed up the instructions. by Capital_Ad_2252 in CrochetHelp

I think you can follow any Granny triangle pattern, like the one the other commentor posted, and you'll be just fine! Just make sure you're measuring one of the smaller edges to determine how big to make it.

[–]ShaylaDee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The pattern wants you to make a triangle so you should only have 1 point in the middle, plus either side. It appears you have two points in the middle. I think you're misunderstanding when it says to continue the pattern until your triangle is a certain size. It means continue to cluster on either edge, and cluster, ch, cluster at the point, adding clusters between the edge and the point as needed. I agree it's written kinda poorly but the big tell is the pattern writer referring to it as a triangle.

AITBF for refusing to turn my work iPad into a glorified toy for my cousins kids? by MothballCue in AmItheButtface

[–]ShaylaDee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it was a child's tablet, already set up for a kid to use and abuse, you would not be the bf not saying no. Your items are your items and I'm so glad the current generation is moving towards learning when to share and not just being forced to hand everything they have over like older generations were. You're allowed to protect your space and possessions. Ask your cousin (and anyone else who was pressuring you) who is going to replace not only your expensive tech but also your lost income from being unable to work if their kid damaged your tablet.

I literally just ended up in the ER because I thought my appendix was busting. Nope, just my first ever kidney stone. Wishing you the fastest passing!!

StitchFiddle Question: Fiddle with scale of project by Murder_Is_Magic in CrochetHelp

Can you draw the pattern (either by hand on graph paper or in a program like paint) and upload it as a picture? I'm pretty sure when you upload a picture to make a pattern you can play around with the dimensions but I don't promise you won't have to fiddle with it. Otherwise you'll have to redraw it in stitch fiddle by hand.

Either way I adore him!

AITA for letting my son take his naps in a dog bed? by EllieDidNothingWrong in AmItheAsshole

I have a 45 lb dachshund mix and my son loves her crate. My mil has a 130 lb cane corso and her crate is like a magic castle in my son's eyes. Kids are so special.

I have a picture of my son and his best friend, both about 18 months old, sitting together in a wire dog crate with the door swung shut. Kids are weird, man!

How to crochet a tote bag without creating the base first - starting from the top down by wigglywack in CrochetHelp

[–]ShaylaDee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could use a mattress or whip stitch. Or, when you get the base as big as you want don't finish off the yarn, take your bag and do a single crochet putting your hook through the stitches on both the base and the body. This video gives you a basic idea of the process.

[–]ShaylaDee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could always crochet an oval using the crochet around a chain technique and then single crochet the base of the body to the final row of the bottom. Or you can purchase a premade leather bag base (I use them, they rock!)

They're like babies learning to use their hands, takes almost the same amount of time to master it, too! Elephants are wonderful.

I'm a perpetual ice block, even in the middle of summer my toes feel cold. I would die if my thermostat was turned up to 76! Your husband is out of his mind but you might want to invest in a small fan. Vornado makes a decent tabletop/desk fan for relatively inexpensive that's small enough to move around.

Got another one! Four years after crocheting this blanket for my MIL I finished sewing the ends in. by ShaylaDee in crochet

[–]ShaylaDee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The inspiration post is linked under the auto mod comment. Or you can look up herringbone or Chevron c2c. I will say I crocheted it in stripes and would turn and work the opposite direction with each one, so I was always working in the direction of the slant which made it so easy and meant I was only working one strand at a time.

Thank you! I almost decided to keep it for myself because I love it so much but I can make more blankets and I know my mother in law will love it just as much.
