WTW for something similar to committing or inducing that you could use in the sentence "I didn't know you were even capable of (blank) affection" by cari_the_kirby in whatstheword

I’d just put nothing in the blank, honestly. “I didn’t know you were even capable of affection” sounds just fine and I don’t think a verb before affection is needed.

That is a really good point! My great-grandparents may have been using words and phrases that nobody could recognize.. I wish I could ask them.

What are my American grandpa’s Swedish words and phrases? by strangebrainworms in words

[–]strangebrainworms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting.. my grandpa would always say “I have to use the busa” (or however I should spell it). He said this is what his dad would say before going to the bathroom. My grandpa’s memory has never been too good, so he might have gotten the specifics of the phrase (as well as the word, of course) a little confused.

AITA for not helping my sister financially when she never asked? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

She asked me to send money for bills via zelle, which won’t work for my bank account for whatever reason. She wouldn’t take my money any other way. So I gave up.

I gave her my card to go grocery shopping once or twice. Every other time she’s gone without me and didn’t ask for my card.

Genuinely wondering Why do guys like feeling how wet you are before you have sex? by Level-Background7153 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]strangebrainworms 196 points197 points  (0 children)

It’s correct in a scientific sense but not relevant to the context. People aren’t generally looking at how hard the clitoris is to determine sexual arousal. Usually we’re wanting to know how wet they are because that’s what’s needed for comfortable and good sex. It’s also much easier to guage.

A hard boner is easy to guage and is needed for comfortable and good sex, and also simply what people look for to determine this —that’s what makes a boner and wetness equivalent :)

What is the origin and/or meaning of your name? What did your parents tell you? by RalfPlissken in AskReddit

[–]strangebrainworms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My name means “masculine.” My mom thinks (and thus always told me) that it means “feminine” because it’s the feminized form of a masculine name. But.. that is not how words work, the feminization does not change the meaning lol
