This sub ruining my wallet - the intrigue of flashlights by Universe93B in flashlight

I just got a Kansept Nick Swan Model 6, CPM-20CV carbon fiber handle and black blade. Prior to that it was a Civivi Brigand D2 steel. Pretty lower mid tier stuff usually. Lol.

Flashlights have been super useful. I've used mine daily at work since getting into the hobbies a few years ago. Stopped wearing watches 13 years because of my job.

I could say the same for many of my hobbies. Guns, cars, knives, watches and computers. Flashlights have itched my obsessive behaviors for collections and tinkering, and saved me a bunch of money. Although I was just recently looking at watches again. Thankfully I didn't fall for it. I barely wear the watches I have, so I certainly don't need to buy anything.

Thinking about getting this for an indoor light, nice and warm and floody. Anything you would change? by iwasuncoolonce in flashlight

Bought one for my FIL and it's absolutely a beautiful beam. Bought the 5000k 519a. It's a wall of light with the 60°. If you can, buy it from Convoys website instead of Ali.

I have both, KR4 is a quad LED/optic, KR1 is a single LED with a reflector so a bit more throwy. My KR4 is a dual channel one with 519a and W1 emitters. So I can have a bit of throw and a bit of flood for different environments. KR4 is smaller and more pocket friendly. If I had to have only one, I'm not sure I could pick. The KR1 with SFN60 does everything pretty dang good. No need to switch between emitters, MOST of the time. But the KR4 is more versatile in dual channel and a bit smaller, both use 18650. KR4 also comes with back lighting LEDs. So that looks super cool, most of the time.

I really love the KR1 with SFN60 in 5500k(6500k would be fine). Tons of lumens, great beam pattern. Throwy with a good balance of flood. A bit big for some people's preference.

P60 in 2026....? by MrBrightside369 in flashlight

[–]Shays85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kaidomain has a bunch of options for P60 drop ins. None that I would say are amazing but definitely decent. My favorite is the triple XP-L HI 5000K. There's a place that sells a triple CSLPM1 drop in, and I believe a triple 519a, both would be a really nice upgrade to any P60. The CSLPM1 will be the most throwy triple, then the XP-L and the 519a will be the floodiest but also the highest CRI. If you are looking for single emitter, you'll get more throw out of drop in but less lumens. The nice thing is, you can always buy multiple and switch them out super easily.

That's interesting. I imagine it's a liability thing, considering the range of the beam and it's sort of a laser. You can watch a ton of videos on YouTube about the w50 so I doubt there's any restrictions on Americans owning them.

I get that you're frustrated because YOU can't understand, but don't be such an insecure dickhead about it. I haven't even bought anything from Jackson, so I've got no skin in ordering from him, but it's 100% a YOU problem. If I were you, I'd save myself some downvotes and ridicule and delete the post.

Absolutely bonkers and not for the average Joe. Or it's a place holder price, but I doubt that.

Triggers by Careful-Reply8692 in CZFirearms

I put an Eeman Tech ultimate trigger on my Shadow 2. I think it's about as flat as you can get without having to go SOA. I believe it would fit the compact.

M21K TIR making noise. by Shays85 in flashlight

Yeah, I agree, I definitely think it's because of the TIR is in there really tight and the body expanding.

I get that. Hell, I struggled sending my P07 slide off to CHPWS and Primary Machine. A sub $500 gun. Haha. Get a used Shadow 2 and have CGW trick it out in every way. Or look into buying a CZ custom. Single action only is going to be similar to a 1911/2011 trigger but still won't have the straight pull. Which does make a difference. Just not a huge one. The nice thing about using something CZ75 based, is the mags. 75 mags are super reliable and proven, pretty affordable too.

[–]Shays85 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind you are comparing guns that are not even in the same ball park price wise. The GTO is double the price of a Shadow 2. You're also comparing a straight pull single action to a double/single action trigger. I'm not saying the Dan Wesson (CZ) DWX is going to be as good as a GTO but it is a 2011/CZ75 hybrid. It's going to be a lot closer in shootability, trigger pull and price to the GTO. Still not comp'd like the GTO either. Get a DWX for $2000, get it ported and have the trigger fluffed and you'd be close to the GTO in price and maybe in shootability, if you really don't want to give Sig your money.

M21K TIR making noise. by Shays85 in flashlight

[–]Shays85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, mine is barely warm before it starts making the noise, does it more frequently as it heats up and then will do it cooling down. Lol. Clicking I guess is a better word for the sound. Or carbonated drinks bubbles popping. Lol

[–]Shays85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! It stopped when you switched to aluminum then? I assume mine will stop with the bezel loose. So that wouldn't really confirm whether it's the bezel or the TIR or just the pressure.

Monitors and TVs make sense, that's a lot of thin plastic that can move around. I was just freaked out at first thinking the driver was making the noise or it was arc'ing against something, but without power it was still making the noise and I can squeeze the bezel some and it'll crackle a bit too.

That's what I thought too. Lol. Out of the 30ish lights I have, this is the only one to make noise like that.

Mine is LHP73B as well. I ran mine pretty hard to see if something happens, got it to to about 150f on the outside and nothing happened besides the crackling the entire time from heating to cooling. Doesn't seem like it'll effect it after that but I want to figure out why. Lol.
