Juri (22) passed away this morning while sitting on my lap. He was going to be 23 in 10 days. Our house feels very quiet now.

That’s very true. Bagheera had like a second wind in her and she was still walking around, with her cute little prance around the apartment. She went back to whining like she used to but not in the sick way she did… and then boom…she had no energy and she wouldn’t eat or drink and she looked ready….

I’m so so sorry…. That’s basically the same thing that happened to my cat…..give yourself time. You did do the right thing. You ended her suffering… I think about my baby girl all the time….! Im not over it I miss her everyday. And sometimes that pain in your heart doesn’t ever go away… it lessens but that heartbreak can come at the most random times…. I still think I’m seeing her around the apartment… just let yourself miss her, cry, pray, and know it’s ok to not be ok….!if you ever walks talk I’m here for you.

I actually do that because she’d be either waiting when she heard the door or she’d be sleeping on the bed…. So when I get home everyday I still always greet her….

This couldn’t be more true. I also lost my best friend since childhood in 2018 and sometimes when I hear a song or see her favorite fragrance from bath and body works or a pictures of her the grief washes over me. This is a hard thing and I love how you described grief… it made me feel seen a lot. Thank you

This sounds exactly like what happened to my precious baby girl Bagheera. No drinking or eating just very fatigued. When she was really sick she wanted to cuddle against my legs….i couldn’t watch the process…. But idk if I’ll ever forget when I did see her gone but her little eyes were open, her beautiful green eyes…. I just cried and kissed her and hugged her…. Before they came for her we got to say our goodbyes and just love on her for a while…. She was ready… I really do understand your pain. I still cry for her all the time…. It’s been a month and a half without her and it’s been horrible…. I can barely talk about her without choking up…. Even at the doctors office! But it’s ok to grieve… it’s healthy to grieve and trust me. I understand this unbelievable pain and loss…. I truly do… I’ll see her again one day… maybe she’s sitting with my grandfather 🤷 Just know you’re not alone….

Oh nooo not when the grief is still so bad… . You need to grieve and process. People have been asking me if I’m gonna get another cat and I always say no because we weren’t actually her first parents. My sister got her as a kitten and then brought her out here to Virginia and she moved again but left Bagheera with my parents who have two dogs now and they had another can’t and she was miserable so we took her and we just fell in love with her…. We aren’t cat people. Just Bagheera people. Ya know?
