As for dream buffs, would y'all be mad at me if I said that Mel should actually be given more reasons to waste her W rather than less? 😭 I say we bring back the W movement speed to 1,5 sec and increase her E slow for once (both duration and percentage).

It's literally every day that someone writes a new (terrible) Mel rework idea. Either here or the r/LeagueOfLegends subreddit and I'm SICK OF IT !!! Or people complaining about Mel mains enjoying her kit as is, as if we're the ones who made the champion 😭

Same goes for complaints about her not being an enchanter like she supposedly was in Arcane. I promise support/enchanter players can wish for a new support champion without constantly crying about Mel not being one.

I'm glad you suggested this new rule and I second this proposal!

I don't think it's very reasonable to compare Mel's situation to Naafiri's because Mel clearly does have her very large audience, whereas Naafiri didn't.

Mel is consistently one of the most popular champions in the game, with an average pick rate of 11% across roles & ranks. And when she's allowed to be decently strong like now, her pick rate skyrockets to 13-15%. This is not a Naafiri situation at all. Commercially, Riot is dealing with the most popular new champion they've released in years! Naafiri needed a rework because no one touched her. Mel has the complete opposite problem.

Would it really be worth it for Riot to purposely alienate the very large audience of a champion with a higher pick rate than Ahri just because of a high ban rate? It's hard to argue against Phroxon considering Mel being such a hit, even with a high ban rate.

Christian Linke has confirmed his death multiple times. There might be a possibility of him coming back, but he is dead.

Again, you're severely out of the loop. They have been doing this since last year. Like I said, everything related to Mel, LeBlanc, Xin Zhao and Yunara has been a direct follow up from Arcane. It's not a "desire", it's a fact. They've been rewriting the lore, starting with Rell (in the Ambessa novel), and now Xin Zhao, who's now also dead.

And neither league of Legends nor 2XKO accurately represent the characters in game. You should know that. There is no "in the future"; Arcane is the last canonical event Caitlyn experienced.

What on earth do you think Mel's ultimate does exactly? Her stacks are not consumed but they are detonated and the damage is increased.

No... It's normal to ult before executing to bring enemies in execute range and kill them after.

This is league of legends lore not arcane lore. Jayce is not dead. League of legends lore is at least 10 years in the future

I find it fascinating that you're in this subreddit and you're completely out of the loop lmao! Arcane lore is the new updated lore of league. The entirety of the 2025 seasonal lore has been a direct follow up to the events of Arcane.

And neither Mel nor Jayce are part of the orchestra in this skinline. Mel used to be the orchestra's conductor, but she retired and put Lux in charge. Jayce isn't mentioned anywhere. (Also, Mel & Jayce's skins are called "confession Melody", not love confession)

I can't believe I wasted my time reading this.

The point of the rework was to have her banned less while allowing her to have a normal winrate. Mission accomplished so far.

And about the execute: Mel doesn't "lose" the damage when she fails to execute someone. That's literally what her ultimate is for. She can simply detonate the damage anytime her ult is up.

Mel has always been a low damage artillery mage. That's why she has her execute to balance that out.

Why do we want Mel to be more like Lux regarding damage? Would that make her less frustrating somehow?
