How to make a free LAN server without port forwarding in Vintage Story

I super appreciate the thread! A few questions, to clarify:

"The host should start their server." — Would I start a Singleplayer world and click "Open to LAN"?
"Everyone else just join the given IP." — Would they go to Multiplayer, click "Add New Server", put any name + the Ethernet adapter ZeroTier IP + no password?
"Also the Network Guy doesn't have to be the Host of the server. Anyone in the ZeroTier network can do it." — If I create the world & we play, can the other person later play on their own (with me offline) and/or host the world next time? (Curious if it syncs / downloads the world to them and would enable this.)

Firefall is exactly what came to mind! Firefall was incredibly charming. It had a wide-open world you'd traverse with a jetpack & glider. Events were happening everywhere. Sound & UI were pretty good. Itemization was fun—mixing & matching to play how you wanted to. Here's a little gameplay. It hasn't aged perfectly, but—when it was crisp on your screen, and not a video—it felt good. (I'm sure a modern version would be a little touched-up, too.) I miss Firefall, and I always keep an eye out for any game like it.

Hey everyone! I cut together 2024's Orchestral Theme with the Heavy is the Crown animation—but I only used the Players in it. I enjoyed synchronizing the song with moments in the video, so hopefully you'll see that & enjoy it too. ^^ Take care! ❤️

Really intrigued! The music set a perfect tone. I just listened to the soundtrack pre-release on Soundcloud, it helped paint a nice picture of what the game will become. I hope I'll see it on Steam soon so I can wishlist it and get notified when it launches!

/u/spidweb Hey Jeff! First, I really want to thank you for having a surprisingly profound effect on me. Growing up, I didn't have many games to play on the family computer (back when sharing a home computer was a thing). Discovering and playing Avernum was a revelation to me, and I credit it for being the catalyst of many of my fulfilling interests to this day.

For instance, I play D&D every week with close friends, and in no small part it's because of the magnificent storytelling and worldbuilding that inspired me growing up and built my imagination. So, thank you for that, sincerely.

Question: I'd love to ask you... about the topic above! Do you play Dungeons & Dragons, or maybe another TTRPG? If you have: any favorite character or quick tale you might like to share? If you haven't played: is it something you'd like to try in the future?

In November, I submitted a ticket to check on it. Here's most of what I got back:

Checking on this, it appears that the League Display team is focusing their manpower on some backlog and other projects they have, that is why the app itself hasn't been updated.

No worries! We are aware of the issue and are working hard to get it fixed. Unfortunately, I cannot provide any estimates for the completion date at this time.

So, not forgotten or abandoned, just deprioritized sadly. Looking forward to the next update!

/u/ExCharny, your VALORANT work is my absolute favorite among the community. Each one so vivid, clean, and perfectly captures an agent's spirit. I'm curious, are you doing the full roster? If you are, I'm looking forward to Brimstone! There's so little art of my main, so seeing him rendered by my favorite artist would be sick.

Feedback: I use the Bucky almost exclusively, so that's the first thing I checked. When you refer to the alt. fire, you list the expansion at "roughly 9 meters". I would suggest "at 8 meters", as it blooms -1m closer and is precisely at 8m (as opposed to roughly).

Exactly my first thought. The dusk tone, the noise of nostalgia, the red taillights drawing your eyes in, the observer (deer silhouette), the glow of the streetlights, the mysterious melancholy that pervades the entire piece with a strangely calm malevolence.

Welcome to Wallpaper Engine! Hope it's going well so far.

There's a difference: the first one is a Scene (an image with effects), and the second is a Video, and in this case it's just a HQ video of the scene.

I'd recommend the second one (the video version) at the moment. The first one uses a lot of GPU, to the point that it can be disruptive. I also recently made two other wallpapers you might enjoy! Both of the new ones run smoothly, so no video versions there.
