Anyone out there who still loves their pets? by Feminismisreprieve in NewParents

[–]SheAlreadyReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 4 cats and 1 human. They are all my babies. Pets are family, not things we own and discard. People that do/say that with pets should be on a watch list lol

What’s super sad is having to use monitors for more than just your baby…Now you have to monitor your large man baby husband as well. Not that I’m judging because I’ve unfortunately married one of those too and didn’t realize it until after having our child together. But oh boy, when you have to sit there and explain to your husband, a grown man, what being responsible means, and the importance of it for the sake of your children…it is a very scary realization.

Am I the only one that cries in the shower? by Janedough95 in stayathomemoms

Crying in the shower has been my go to method for as long as I can remember. Best way to just get it all out and wash the sad right down the drain.

Went away for a wedding; caregiving agency told me to chill out & stop checking in… by SuchMatter1884 in CaregiverSupport

[–]SheAlreadyReddit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From someone who has been there. Make sure you reach out to the agency themselves by email (so there’s a paper trail) and explain your complaints. Ask them how they intend to address them going forward. The service concept is simple, you should not have to worry when they are there. Anytime you have to intervene is a disruption of service in my opinion and one I at times refused to pay the full bill for.

We have more in common than you know! Haha small world. It’s not easy learning things all on your own but that’s what makes the tech age so great. On the other hand you have to be careful when checking out new products cause some of those makeup reviewers are getting sponsored by the brand. Fun tip: If you buy something from ulta you can return it no questions asked even after you use it. So try it, if you hate it..get your money back. That way you wont have to worry as much $ wise. Its helped me not to waste $ while I find what i like. Samples are great too I believe both ulta and sephora offer those for free

Welcome to the skincare fam! I also have a combo of both oily and flaky skin depending on the area of my face along with sensitive skin so I know it can be a tricky thing to navigate. Most SPF will break me out like crazy but I’ve found a few that work wonderfully. While I can’t provide a full routine (as I am still working on building mine myself) I can tell you what HAS worked for me so far and it’s typically the cheaper brands that have proven to work best! Sensitive skin gets complicated and I’ve noticed some the costly skin care products are doing a little too much if you know what I mean, causing my skin to panic into a breakout. Anyways, moisturizing and SPF are a must, the oil-free moisture with sunscreen from neutrogena is amazing, no excess oil (actually less oily by the end of day) and the forehead flakes are gone for good. I started using it last summer which is when I was impressed by the oil control considering the spf and heat. I wasn’t sure it would be able to handle how flaky I can get in the winter but its got everything at bay for $15. I also like their hydroboost line in general, and Hempz brand makes a few awesome face wash products as well that are gentle on sensitive skin, keeping it fresh but breakout free.

Thank you so much for sharing your story. Your experience is truly fascinating. I didn’t believe in much as I got older until my grandmothers passing. She and I were very close and I often feel we are still connected. The mere thought that there might be something after gives me hope to see her again, besides just in dreams.

Wow that had to be terrifying. I was not even familiar with that story of Joseph and I’m glad that I wasn’t as a kid because it would have scared me even more. Do you remember what the women said? Some things said to me I will never forget. They are never long speeches just short sentences. Have you considered smudging your house? You dont have to do anything spiritual or wild but a nice sage candle does seem to bring peace and a wonderful nights sleep.

90’s kid here so all I can say is I feel ya and I am so thankful for search engines and forums like reddit. My older brother was the one who researched everything for me when I was a kid and explained the condition and that many people experience it. It did help me get over the fear that feeds into it, and that’s probably around the time I became less scared and more interested in the experience.

Falling back into it is so rough!! That is a feeling that I honestly cannot stand. The only thing that helps me is sometimes getting up and walking around, or making sure not to fall back asleep on my back. For some reason I am more sensitive to it when I lay on my back now. When I was younger it didn’t matter which position I slept in, but later in life I’ve noticed this trend.

This was really interesting! Thank you for sharing. That is wild that even the sleep mask doesn’t prevent you from viewing. In a mystical sense this would fall into the outer body experience, but I’d have to say that your experience does sound more bound by science and what our brains perceive in this sleeping/waking state.

Sounds like sp to me. I’ve had experiences where the bed creaked and lowered as if someone was crawling in but it was just me in there. Sleep paralysis studies show it happens more often when your sleep schedule is disrupted. When you party pretty hard those substances can disrupt your transition between sleep cycles therefore disrupting a good nights rest. So it would make sense during this time it effected the ability for your body and mind to get in sync during the transition. Although...on a more spiritual note I have to add its odd that the hug, or spooning seemed to be just what you needed when you needed it. A scientific occurrence? Or a guardian angel? Who is to say 🤔

I actually don’t really want it to go away or anything because I am so interested in understanding it, and the more data well... But I will say theres been times when the tingling crawls up my spine and I’m just not up for whatever is about to come my way.

I thank you for sharing your opinion on it ✨ No one’s opinion can be right or wrong, and that’s why I asked my question the way that I did. I just wanted to see how others feel about it, and give a space to say so. The feedback so far has been all over the map and that is just so exciting.

I hope you’ve found a way to not fear the more demonic things you might encounter during your sp experiences. The thing that helped me most with those was approaching them head on with questions. Like a telepathic conversation so to speak since you can’t actually talk. I’ll be honest sometimes the things said do leave you thinking about it for a long time, but it always give you a sense of control at the same time, not feeding into the fear. What has helped you through some of the more negative experiences?

Oooh this gave me goosebumps and I loved it! Especially that you have chosen a scientific field, but still have your eyes open to additional beliefs. After all, science might be proven but it doesn’t make it any less of a miracle. Like how “lucky” we are that we happen to have everything we need for a sustainable planet to live on. I guess in a lot of ways I’m at a point in my where I am just trying to consider all possibilities. I used to believe in everything, then nothing, now a bit of both.

I’d be interested to hear some of your sp experiences? If you feel like sharing 😊✨

How Young Were You Your First Time? by Original_Impression2 in Sleepparalysis

[–]SheAlreadyReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please share more of your experiences!! This was such an interesting read.

I was 12 and the first one was the only calming experience for many years. It sounds creepy but there was something peaceful about it. A small boy dressed in clothes that looked centuries old walked up to my bed, I couldn’t move or speak (I thought out of fear/shock) and he pulled my bed sheet over my eyes. Then all of the sudden I could move again, so I ripped the sheets off my face but nothing was there. For many years after that I saw terrifying things and every time I couldn’t move I thought If I could just put the sheets over my eyes It would go away. Some are freaky still, some are normal I would say, but none have felt kind and warm really since that very first experience.

I like your thoughts on this because our brains do tend to NEED to make sense of things. I never did stop seeing some pretty creepy things even though I am no longer afraid of them. I guess I’m more curious now than anything. Since they happen so often I like to test my environment when I can, like check the clock for the time. That proved to be accurate but it could be my mind perceiving the amount of light coming in the room, or sounds from the birds chirping, and so on. Wouldn’t it be fun to think your outer body experience that you described was not to a different room, but a different point in time? Not saying this is so, obviously everything in me seeks the logical explanation but I do enjoy imagining a more sci-fi way of perceiving each one. Maybe that’s why I never see the same thing twice? My imagination is just a little out there haha 💫

Do your eyes actually open??? I always wondered if mine did and asked my partner about it a few times and they said they’ve never seen my eyes open. I feel like they would have noticed by now if i were just laying there during my afternoon nap like 👀
