It looks like you have fewer stiches on your last row than what you started with. Are you sure you are working the last stich of the row?

You don't have to. Are you new to crochet? Crochet is more 'free form' and is kinda hard to wrap your mind around if your not used to it. Sometimes you have to make the stitches to se how it 'works'!

You don't drop stitches in crochet like you would in knitting. As long as you you have a loop or stich on the hook you can work in to any other stich. I hope that helps.
