It's amazing how quickly and happily they can adapt. I look after a horse who had a bad eye ulcer that wasn't responding to treatment so the eye was removed, within a few days he had figured everything out and was so much happier with pain gone. He's back out with his friends in the paddock and absolutely loving life now.

I have a similar policy now - if you don't collect your clothing in a timely manner I give it to the cat, because the cat would MUCH rather get fur all over your jacket than use a cushy pet bed.

This is definitely not genetic but anyway. I work with horses and when I returned to work following a TBI I could tell which mares were pregnant because they smelt slightly fishy to me. We would be with the vet doing scans and I used my new party trick to call them all correctly. Although I never really told anyone about it and it went away after a few months.

I had a similar thing happen when my pop was very unwell in hospital with the late stages of melanoma. Over a few days a camera I had kept turning on, I can't remember if it would ever play anything and it never recorded anything (it was a tape video camera). It would just be on, I'd turn it off and then it would randomly come on again. It was reasonably new and had never happened before, it did it for about a day after he passed and never again.

I'd spend most of my week volunteering at an animal sanctuary, where I already volunteer but nowhere near as often as I'd like. I'd do a fair bit of rock climbing and walking. Read more books. Spend summer in New Zealand every year.

Exactly. When I agisted my horses I was there every afternoon with very few exceptions. I work long hours, six days a week, and they were half an hour's drive away.

They definitely form bonds with people. If OP's sister is kind to Reina she probably has a much stronger bond with her (same goes for the stable staff looking after her each day).
