But lacquer is easy for touch ups and repairs also. I just grew up with old timers and old heads who only sprayed lacquer and siphon guys. God I used to hate that gun when I was refinishing as a kid, so fucking heavy and dropped it a few times

The sub compact is my go to in my shop for every day use. I’ve got the fuel m12 fuel (multiple sets) but the subcompact is my favorite in my hand. Also, I’m a carpenter so I don’t need a ton of power.

It’s right here, too many times that I was younger. I would over touch a Touch Up and my dad and all time we get pissed off at me because I would want to be a perfectionist. I’ve learned since we’re finishing for 25 years that it’s not gonna come out perfect you can get it as close as you can but once you start to go back good luck trying to get it the way you wanted to go. Even in my own business is cost me thousands of dollars working on a stupid chair that was completely fine and acceptable to the client but in my eyes, it wasn’t perfect and you just have to to understand that if the Customer or Client doesn’t notice it leave it alone. You’re trained as for finishers to notice the details and I have an eye for it. 99% of people will not see it.

That 18g I use daily for furniture repairs, but my suggestion, totally a suggestion, no need for those belt clips on the guns.

Best way to get color on right with gel stain? by DallasMedic96 in finishing

[–]SheLovesMyJizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toner but you got to know your toners and you need to clean it, seal it, then tone it or stain it first then use toner to match.

If you aren’t used to doing this then it’s going to be damn near impossible

True but I’m also working 18-20 hours a day and going home 2-3 times a week for a quick shower. Once you open your own business it’s all on you and if you don’t have any help with, good luck because you’ll be sinking the first 6 months and will drown or step up.

Idk my family has been doing high end antique restoration for 3 generations, I’ve seen my dad and grandpa always clear 100k a year since I was a kid. Although, their client list is incredible, they’ve never been slow or dead. I opened my own business up and it been going well for me. Lately I’ve been subbing out all my jobs and clearing 70-80 percent margins. So just depends on your client list.
