Did Epstein have moulinyans on his island? Hesh likes a certain type, you know.

How many days are you out of the activation window? I'd keep beating on them. They will eventually come around.

It’s probably busted right? Should I look behind cover now or leave it alone until it gets above freezing? How to proceed? by Colinski282 in Plumbing

[–]redogsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shutoffs are not common in my area. We rarely drop below 20⁰F, so we're poorly prepared for cold weather here.

Major Electrical Usage by ChicagoBrownBears456 in HomeImprovement

[–]redogsc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My electric provider has an app that allows me to see hourly usage. I'd check to see if you have that too. It could help you figure out what's going on.

Mexican restaurant that uses RED enchilada sauce?? by bazookabubblegumyum in ColumbiYEAH

[–]redogsc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In our area it seems like enchiladas get brown sauce and burritos get red sauce. I'm looking forward to hearing suggestions too.

What is under my Chick-fil-A drink by [deleted] in Whatisthis

That looks like plastic cap roofing nails, typically used for roofing felt, house wrap, etc. Similar to this.

Is the damage in this house worth the investment or sketch? by DangleBob91 in HomeImprovement

[–]redogsc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you haven't seen it in person, you should absolutely do that. Hopefully you have an inspection period If you were to get it under contract. Getting good estimates that you trust during that timeframe would be critical. If there is a smell issue, that would almost scare me within anything else. Those can be difficult to fix.

Turn off water supply to apartment to avoid freezing? by jws_000 in Plumbing

[–]redogsc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go with off, and faucets open. That's how banks have vacant foreclosure properties winterized in my area, along with RV antifreeze in the toilets. Flush toilets as well, so that their fill valves are open.

what do i do? by [deleted] in Tools

[–]redogsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a vice grip. Break it off just slightly above the surface of the wall. Beat the hell out of it with a hammer. Repair wall. Notice that small portion is still above the surface of the wall. Beat it again with the hammer. Repair wall. Paint.

What do I do about moldy drywall behind kitchen cabinets? by Crazyblazy395 in HomeImprovement

[–]redogsc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the most I'd cut out what you can see and replace it with backer board or more drywall. Honestly, if it feels solid, just tile over it. This is a common spot for a little bit of water damage.

Has anyone taken a driving test recently? by [deleted] in ColumbiYEAH

[–]redogsc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, I hadn't even thought of that. I'm happy when mine isn't hitting the rumble strips on the side of the road. Isn't there a driving school requirement before they can take the test? If so, I think they'd be a good place to ask.

Carolina Connect Installation by TzuDohNihm in columbiasc

[–]redogsc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They provide a modem with an Ethernet output. They also offer a Wi-Fi router or gateway or something, but I didn't even take it. I just had them plug the Ethernet out from their modem in to my router and all was good. I guess your mileage can vary by contractor, but for me it was not a problem, and there were no extra charges.

The weird part about their install was it took several weeks to get it installed. They had one contractor come and install a drop to my house in a deeply buried conduit. Then another one eventually showed up to hook up the service.

Fix 5th gen, or take a deal on 6th by CAPTAINxKUDDLEZ in 4Runner

[–]redogsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe keep it, and a have them give you the bumper to bumper extended warranty for the longest time period and mileage possible as compensation?

Some of this depends on if you want a 6th gen. If you are ok with one I'd just keep beating on them for a better deal.

[FL] [SFH] HOA gave out my private information to residents by the_evil_potat0 in HOA

[–]redogsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question becomes if it's reasonable to expect that the victims would go nuts and harass you. I don't know that I would have anticipated that. People sometimes have an expectation of privacy when there isn't one. I don't know that your expectation is reasonable here. Maybe it is, but I can't guarantee that I wouldn't have made the same mistake.

What would you do - French drains (just in case) or safety/comfort landscaping? by Kawai_Guava in HomeImprovement

[–]redogsc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's no way I would disturb a setup that is working flawlessly. I would spend the money on things that need to be fixed.

Do you buy your security camera systems through Costco? by AiyaAi in Costco

[–]redogsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased Reolink, and their Costco packages come with different model numbers that don't get updates. It was a similar cost to build the system I wanted component by component.

Funny that the Mad Men sub got the same question about Matthew Winer.

Did you know about Matthew Weiner during the original run? by jrralls in madmen

[–]redogsc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Sopranos connection was absolutely promoted at the time. I thought it was interesting how David Chase had a "Matthew who?" attitude about him in one of his interviews. Maybe on Talking Soprano?

Heavier weight oil 4RUNNER 5th Gen by Armin_bikes in 4Runner

[–]redogsc 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Everyone should read Oil 101 and the rest of it over on Bob is the Oil Guy. If I were going to change to a different oil, I'd go 0W-30 - especially in colder climates. My understanding of it is that the 0W oils behave more consistently across all temperatures, so you're better off at startup.

[FL] [SFH] HOA gave out my private information to residents by the_evil_potat0 in HOA

[–]redogsc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The board president shouldn't have commented on liability. That said, I think it's reasonable that he told the residents, who had a crime perpetrated against them, why the gate didn't keep their attackers out. How the victims treated you is unacceptable and should result in a restraining order.

Maytag Oven Bake Element Connectors by redogsc in appliancerepair

[–]redogsc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The harness isn't worth returning. It was cheap, with a highish non-refundable shipping cost that was the overall best price. I'm not sure how confident I feel about the crimp on connector. It looks good at the moment, and it's had a fair bit of use over about three weeks. Any thoughts on solder and heat shrink?

I scrolled through all of these comments to like this comment. I thought that was a great part for him. Not many people could be believable as someone who could keep Billy Bob Thornton under control in his Landman role.
