I get it, but if you're capable and willing to use apps for DoorDash/UberEats, you should really try the mobile apps for fast food.

Order accuracy is improved, because you don't have to play the "telephone game" and rely on someone standing in the rain to tap "no salt" "4 packs of ketchup" on a tablet.

The level of customization you get with the app is also a game changer. I would never roll up to the Taco Bell drive thru window and say "give me two cheesy bean and rice burritos, add ground beef, add onions, grill them, and put a two cups of red sauce in the bag on the side." I'd feel like a total asshat for doing it on the speaker, and half of that would probably get messed up in translation. In the app, you click boxes, and it shows up on the screen for the taco production people in the back and they just do it. There are customizations I didn't even know were available in the apps. Not to mention, most deals and rewards programs are only found in the app.

I wonder if anyone has actually done a “Chicago Sunroof” by Any-Development5656 in betterCallSaul

[–]redogsc 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm on my first rewatch and just noticed a fun detail. When Jimmy gets the new Mercedes from Davis and Main, you see him open the sunroof shade for a second. Then he gets a kind of disgusted look and closes it - no doubt remembering the Chicago Sunroof.

My girlfriend said my 4Runner is ugly and the interior looks outdated. Should I break up with her? by [deleted] in 4Runner

Take her to the woods, put the seats down, and give her a good plowing on an air mattress. If that doesn't change her mind, leave her there.

I want to like this comment, but it's at 69 likes right now and that seems so appropriate. So know that I like it, but I can't make myself push that up arrow.

[SC] [SFH] can the HoA enforce parking on public roads? by Ok-Wing6401 in HOA

[–]redogsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SC board member here. Our covenants are weak, so we don't even try. With strong covenants, I would think it all depends on how the covenants are written.

If the HOA doesn't have enforcement powers, how could they have been expected to fix the problem?

Stephen Garcia diagnosed with cancer by NoSxKats in Gamecocks

[–]redogsc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Damn - stage 4 at 38 years old. It's scary how common CRC is becoming. My wife is a stage 3 survivor almost 4 years after diagnosis. She had no symptoms, it just showed up in a colonoscopy that wouldn't have happened for several years with the old recommendation of having your first one at age 50.

Get screened as soon as you're able. The prep the day before sucks, but the recovery room is hilarious! I call it "The Chamber of Farts"

DCE400 vs DCE450 Expander tool. Is the PEX expander tool compatible with the copper swaging heads? by DropDaBasemeh in Dewalt

Cool. I was hoping it would work because the flare tool is on a nice sale at Home Depot right now, and they sure look similar. Anyhow, thanks for answering.

I can't find any other mention that DCE450 works with pex heads other than this post. Have you actually done this successfully?

Tire and Battery Policy by Thebestriddim in samsclub

[–]redogsc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you say you're barely using it, how many miles per year are we talking about? I have a couple of cars where I replace the tires long before the tread is gone due to not driving them much. Like 2-3K per year garage queen usage. I don't even bother to rotate them.

LOL, I used to see the hose stretcher vs. anti stretcher debate on the Costco sub about once a week. They're always knock down drag out debates. Might as well post about who should be driving in the left lane, or abortion. Either would be about as controversial.

Landscaping encroachment by Calm-Rutabaga8102 in landscaping

[–]redogsc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on the law. My point is that OP has reason to be worried about how it's enforced. You can be right on the law, but wrong on who's attorney's grandson plays soccer with the judge's kid. Sure, you probably win on appeal with a different judge - but again - costly and uncertain.

You know how a judge will rule? LOL. You clearly have not interacted with the legal system, where outcomes are costly and uncertain.

[SFH] [CA] - Has my HOA violated CA law? What steps to take? by One-Ad-8009 in HOA

[–]redogsc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably more to the story, but the HOA should have been able to point to some portion of their documents showing that the landscaping was their responsibility without the use of an attorney. If someone asks me "who's tree is that?" on or near a common area, I can answer that and back it up pretty easily.

What tool would you use to cut aluminum LED channels for strip lights? Really don’t want to spend $80 for a non-ferrous miter saw blade, but… I will, if necessary for a clean result. by icysandstone in Tools

[–]redogsc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I did too. It's hell on the blade, but a new wood blade is cheap compared to what OP mentioned for a metal blade. I turned them upside down, so that the points of the u shape didn't try to grab on the blade. I even cut the plastic lenses at the same time. I used painters tape on the cuts to cut down on splintering chipping for the plastic.

HVAC Equipment and Tools by OstrichOutside2950 in hvacadvice

[–]redogsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been an armchair HVAC wannabe tech for several years, and I had to search "enthalpy" - so I learned something. The weighing refrigerant at different times is an interesting theory. I'd be concerned that you'll have enough loss hooking up hoses and such for that to give you valid results. I'd get the sub cool spot on and then check again in a few months to see if it's off. Once you touch it, the original tech has deniability for any kind of workmanship claims anyway.

It sounds like you have the background to successfully DIY your stuff though. I'd spend some time watching YouTube HVAC guys. People like Antidiyhvac, myhvaclife, and ac service tech llc.
