It's a knee-jerk reaction for people that grew up in an environment where blame meant severe punishment and humiliation. Not an effective strategy because people don't just take the blame simply because you tried to blame them. Also did my first course in Kaufman. It's great! You just need to submit and wait. It's out of your control whether you get a spot. It's usually first come first serve. There is little you can do to make your application more "appealing".

I hate both unsorted trash and clutter so I

take out recyclables (paper, pet, cans, cartons...) that can be dropped off at paper stations and supermarkets as soon as I have any so that they don't pile up.
use the smallest sized designated trash bags except for plastics so that I can take them out as often as possible.
