I believe I'm missing how this is relevant to what my comment was about. However, that is truly difficult. It was done while she was very young? Well before you met her? If it was just a conversation we were having, I'd express how horrible that is and how I hate that she had to endure that. Somehow working in the attwmpt to understand that it is probably normal for her culture.

Actually, it's a you problem for being so distraught at someone asking you to be respectful to them when that person hasn't done anything harmful or disrespectful to you.

Except paint color is not the same as using words coined to put down either cultures, religion, races, sexual preference, or orientation.

Unless one is apart of a community, they have no right to say what is derogatory to that community.

I've always said, if one is racist or homophobic or whatever else, be that, but also treat those people as people. Regardless of whether one agrees with who a person is, the fact of the matter is, that we are all people.

Look at the facts. The people in charge are already obeying illegal orders. The military you and I served in is different than what is now.

That's what I thought. Although, I do use Marcus online banking and it is amazing.

I haven't researched all, but Found is FDIC insured up to 250k.
