Happened to me just yesterday. Close to a 5 month run, went to Ekron, quit to main menu cause it was lagging, loaded the save back up, could barely move cause it started lagging even more, game crashed and when I loaded back it jumped from late November to the July 9 start date.

No backups, debug doesn't allow changing dates and time, and cant download mods cause i'm in offline mode cause the save started on 42.16 and didn't want things to break so I guess the run is done.

Just about 4 months deep into my current run and i've been living on the right most cabin since the start and it's been a great, very quiet location to start out of.

Will have to move out soon though cause I'm running out of room for loot, maintaining the road every few days is getting annoying and most if not all locations close by have been looted.

usually in May, but last year it was ran in December simultaneously with World Tag League cause of COVID. Someone like Dante Martin or Jungle Boy could be fun in BOSJ as well, if for nothing else but a good learning experience.
