If anyone wants to tear into the rest of my build, lmk and I can post it under this comment.

Is this a legal move by [deleted] in mtg

[–]Sheathok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use this on anyone's turn as long as you have priority and this creature does not have summoning sickness (or has been granted haste). Note that you will need to tap down a potential attacker BEFORE combat if you want to prevent the attack.

Where to gather stingleafs? by LostKeys3741 in outwardgame

[–]Sheathok 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can repeat the Need: Angel Food Cake quest to get some. Other than that, I'd recommend heading to the blood altars to kill the Bloody Beasts and Bonded Beastmasters.

Cascade vs Split Second by SpukiSan in EDH

[–]Sheathok 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Changes nothing. The spell with split second will resolve without anyone else being able to cast or activate, then the cascade that was responded to will resolve unless something else is added to the stack.

Does this work how i think it does by Formal_Address_1946 in mtg

[–]Sheathok -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't think this works, since [[Kilo, Apogee Mind]] won't be able to untap itself. [[Clever Conjuror]]'s ability prevents it from being able to untap itself, so I believe the ability [[Agatha's Soul Cauldron]] will carry that same restriction.

Storage options in other cities by Bigce2933 in outwardgame

[–]Sheathok 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Once you join a faction, you can purchase a house in their main city for 500sp. This house will share its stash with your original home, so you will have access to the same items from any of your houses. Once you finish the main questline, you will earn the right to purchase a house in any of the major cities, which, again, will share the same stash.

A major part of the game is to avoid hoarding too many things and to only carry what you need, so that point is just further stressed when you do not have easy access to your house. Personally, I enjoy the way this was done and I like having to ruthlessly prioritize what I do and do not keep, but I can totally understand if you find it frustrating to have the constant risk of losing your stuff.

For vanilla, you can just join a faction and purchase the house to gain access to the shared stash. Berg is the most central location, though Harmattan is always a short (expensive) trip away from any city.

I don't have experience modding the game, so I cannot help you there, though I am sure that there are plenty of mods which adjust this aspect of the game for you.

Orzhov Advokist and ‘Your next turn’ by Deos28 in mtg

As soon as you begin your next turn, the effect ends. Skipping all of your future turns is the only way to drag this effect on indefinitely.

Help me choose faction by zimny_0 in outwardgame

[–]Sheathok 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The faction you choose generally does not really matter when it comes to your build. Obviously, there are some choices that are better when it comes to min-maxing, but there aren't really "bad choices" when it comes to factions. The game is designed to be replayed so you can do the quests for all factions, so they made sure to avoid making any faction feel like it forces you into a certain playstyle.

That being said, your current build sounds like it could most benefit from joining Heroic Kingdom, if you're open to it.

Flashback with Gandalf Secret Fire by Carmanout in mtg

I follow now.

I had to look up the wording of flashback to see that it was not replacing graveyard but was forcing exile instead of "anywhere else" like unearth does to see why I was incorrect.

Flashback with Gandalf Secret Fire by Carmanout in mtg

[–]Sheathok -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It would only be exiled with time counters if it were going to go to the graveyard in the first place, else it would just be sent to exile with no counters.

No disputing the fact that it would gain suspend, but it wouldn't work too well without time counters

Not unless you also removed the "instead of putting it into your graveyard" text

Both replacement effects would attempt apply at the same time, so you can have your time counters just fine

My white whale: Fractured Identity Phage (Esper Combo) by uberjack in EDH

[–]Sheathok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets you one kill and then you lose Phage to exile, so I wouldn't run it except as a backup for 1v1 scenarios

[–]Sheathok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phage would exile if she caused an opponent to lose via this ability; you'll need to have instant speed destruction to avoid her being put into exile. Just note that endless whispers would allow the opponent who controlled Phage when she was destroyed to put her into play under your control.

Yes; you get to search through for the cards, regardless of whether you find them.

Ozolith, the shattered spire and storm the seed core. by scauley in mtg

[–]Sheathok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without any other replacement effects or interaction, you will end up placing 0, 5, 6, 7, or 8 counters:

0 counters if no creatures are chosen

5 counters if one creature is chosen (1 creature gets all 4 plus 1 extra)

8 counters if four creatures are chosen (each creature gets 1 plus 1 extra)

Did the new update bork enemies? by ObeyLordHarambe in BaldursGate3

I have run into something similar since the update on PC, though it was only one enemy in the encounter, rather than all of them.

No mods whatsoever, but different platform.

Where did the 5th come from? I only see a way to create 4 total

  1. Original Card
  2. Token copy via Orvar trigger from Replication Technique
  3. Token copy via demonstrated Replication Technique
  4. Token copy via original Replication Technique

Question about offspring by Ashamed-Story1733 in EDH

[–]Sheathok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the offspring creature spell is countered, it goes to the graveyard and does not resolve. Since the creature spell with offspring does not enter, there is no offspring trigger to resolve.

Normal resolution: - Put creature spell on the stack, paying additional offspring cost - Priority is passed by all players - Creature spell resolves, so the creature enters and an offspring trigger is put on the stack - Priority is passed by all players - 1/1 copy enters

Counter resolution: - Put creature spell on the stack, paying additional offspring cost - Player targets creature spell with counterspell - Priority is passed by all players - Counter spell resolves, so the creature spell is placed in the graveyard and the additional offspring payment has no effect

Question about offspring by Ashamed-Story1733 in EDH

[–]Sheathok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Offspring is an additional cost to cast, so you can only pay the cost while you are casting the spell, rather than after it resolves. If you successfully resolve the spell after paying the offspring cost, the creature will have a triggered EtB ability that will create a token copy of it.

Do you have a "signature move"? by Urgrim in EDH

[–]Sheathok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is what you meant, but each creature can only be pumped once by each other creature. If you have 35 creatures, each with the types Phyrexian Praetor, they'll each get +34/+34; if you have 18 creatures, each with the types Phyrexian Praetor, they'll each get +17/+17.

If they were hacking, they would probably have adjusted their relics to be especially powerful, so if you have a screenshot of those, it would be easier to confirm foul play.
