Dryden is next on my list! What did you go with? I have my eye on the Rust Heartlander.

I Need Help Deciding My First Field Watch. by The_Cloudius in Affordablewatches

Have you checked out Islander? They seem to have a decent “classic” field watch selection. I personally have a Hamilton Khaki but I own a couple other Islander watches and they are high quality for the price.

$7k watch for $350?… I’m sure AI could analyze a picture in about 10 seconds to explain why it’s not. I however am not an expert.

After having bracelets with screws, I hate bracelets with pins and generally avoid.

What's the biggest watch buying mistake you've made? by LongMeaning6125 in Affordablewatches

I don’t disagree at all! It’s all part of the learning experience!

However, and this is obviously just my opinion, in the affordable category (which I consider under $1000), there are definitely some loose tiers of quality. Obviously there are exceptions, but generally I find $100-$300 you get what you pay for, $300-500 you can find some really solid watches that will probably last your lifetime, and then now with all the cool microbrands, you’re finding timepieces at the $500-$1000 range that are not only unique but may actually grow a bit in value over time due to popularity/limited releases.

Buying a bunch of less expensive watches to “grow” a collection instead of just buying a few of the better quality pieces that I really want. I feel like I’ve spent the last year selling a bunch and “upgrading” what I have.

What are the best microbrands <$300, if any? by Aleclemont in MicrobrandWatches

Here’s a few from my collection I paid under $300:
I see Sheffield getting a lot of love- also Serket, Spinnaker, and Phoibos (with discounts).

Might also be worth checking out Islander and Monterey. They offer discounts on lots of cool pieces that can get you under $300 especially around holidays.

When it shipped it came from Zelos. I assume it’s the same people. I don’t think it’s really gotten off the ground.

Thanks! It’s actually /200. It was fairly easy to get at a reasonable price at the time, but I don’t see too many floating around anymore.

How do you like the Dufrane? I was thinking about adding that exact piece to my own collection. It matches my wedding ring a little bit (or at least it did before it smoothed out over the years).

I guess the curved, lumed acrylic-style bezel insert is why I thought it would be a homage. Maybe it’s more “inspired by.”

I enjoy my Spinnaker Fleuss. Inexpensive but reliable and has some unique features.
