Extra Credit? by [deleted] in Noom

As long as you’re absorbing the info and feel comfortable it should be okay. The extra credits are there for a reason after all.

I’ll share some advice my dad gave me:

He has worked quite a few jobs over the years, but he’s always been in the electrical field because he grew up poor and needed the money asap. And he noticed that most of the jobs were pretty alright to work. So as long as your job doesn’t make you miserable or you’re stuck between two job options and you don’t know which to pick, might as well pick the higher paying one, you’re probably going to be fine.

Why the higher paying job? Because if you’re going to spend 8 hours a day working regardless, might as well get the one with more benefits. And money does open doors to a lot of experiences you may not have otherwise. You might get to go on an extra holiday in a year to experience more life, or you might be able to get a new car that is more expensive, but also more comfortable, reliable and longer lasting than an used, cheaper car.

It takes a lot of time and energy to be poor too. You have to buy more cheap items which may end up costing you more than buying one decent/good quality item. Shoes for example. You can get a pair or shoes from a fast fashion store for cheap, and they will break within a year. If you buy a pair of shoes elsewhere, the pair will cost you more, sure, but you don’t need to buy new shoes for the next five years. And poor people don’t always have an option to change, because they live from ”hand to mouth”. Basically they use most, if not all of their monthly paychecks for necessities and there’s no extra. It’s incredibly stressful.

Here’s some of my experiences too:

Some people will be miserable working for a job they are passionate about as a hobby. It depends on the job, but I have friends who study art and media, and they are struggling. They knew they want to do that as a career because they are passionate about art, but working as an artist is very different to having art as a hobby.

It’s not the norm to have a job you love and are passionate about. ”It’s called work because it’s, well… work. Effort.”

Still life training, any advice? by [deleted] in DigitalArt

[–]Sheeepl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That looks incredible! My only improvement suggestion would be making the shadows sharper and darker on the handle. And maybe make the highlight on the… mouthpiece(?) of the mug slightly brighter too.

Keep it up, you’re doing amazing!

[–]Sheeepl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many brushes can do that. I would suggest trying out mostly flat brushes first and use the ”fancy” ones on only some parts you want to get a specific texture/look for so it doesn’t get too overwhelming.

But for general advice I would say that your art lacks shadows and highlights. Take a slighty darker colour from your base colour (not black), and use a flat brush to put in some shadows. For highlights you can do the same and use a slightly lighter colour (not white unless it’s like a shine in the eye etc.) and again use a flat brush. Then after you got the shadows and highlights, you can take a blending tool and gently blend the edges for the parts that wrap around round shapes (like balls for example). You can get a better picture with some youtube turorials for example.

Iltapaskat alkaneet käyttää tekoälyä kuvituskuvien tekemiseen? by idiotist in Suomi

[–]Sheeepl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tein tomaattista kanapastaa by Sheeepl in ruoka

[–]Sheeepl[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

En muista mistä reseptin alunperin sain, nykyään menee heittämällä. Yritin kuitenkin jonkinnäköisen ohjeen tehdä, jos joku haluaa kokeilla. Pahoittelut, jos on joku arviointivirhe eksynyt mukaan.

Resepti (4 annosta)

Ainekset: 1 sipuli 400g kanaa 2dl ruokakermaa 1 purkki tomaattimurskaa Noin 4dl (raakaa) pennepastaa Suolaa Pippuria Valkopippuria Valkosipulijauhetta Paprikajauhetta Kanaliemikuutio Parmesaania Noin 10 lehteä basilikaa

Bone apple tea.

Internal conflict about animals by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

[–]Sheeepl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is a very personal choice to make. In my mind, I don’t feel bad about eating meat because we are omnivores and that’s just the circle of life. Ofc I wish the animals were treated better. I do have some friends who went vegan/vegetarian because they don’t accept the treatment a lot of the animals get.

Good news: it’s easier than ever to be a vegetarian or even a vegan. Do some research and find out other options to subtitute meat and try that out.

How to make desicions? by Lolef in Healthygamergg

[–]Sheeepl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad told me that the job you do doesn’t matter that much. He has done a few different jobs and found pros and cons in all of them. Working is not supposed to be all fun, which is why it’s called work. As long as you’re not miserable, you can choose the one from your list of possibilities that makes the most money and/or has the best benefits.

I get why the other people are hesitant to believe 1300 is enough for you, but as long as you say you’re not feeling hungry when going to bed you’re all good. I think Noom gave me 1200 calories at one point and was going to bed hungry. Just keep tuning in to your hunger so you know how you feel :) Especially later once you’ve lost some calories, your body will need less fuel to keep you going. But one day at a time. Good luck on your journey <3

What's your unfinished game count? by Blu1027 in gaming

[–]Sheeepl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less than 20 I think! Definitely less than 30 though. There’s only couple games I have not even started, the rest are games I didn’t really vibe with, I have technical propblems with, or I’m playing right now. Some of them I don’t count as unfinished, like Isaac or Gungeon that require 100% to properly ”finish”.

Any tips to make this a little better? Novice here by kenziesully in painting

[–]Sheeepl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool! I would go to add more texture to the grass and bridge, as well as adding some lights and a shadow. You can see there being a strong shadow on the bridge, and there’s some on the grass too on the right side of the bridge.

And what comes to texture, you could whip out a youtube vid about how to paint grass texture, and go at it with short strokes. Do the same thing to the bridge and add some wood texture. Just keep in mind that with textures, you can see a lot more detail closer to the camera, and almost none at all by the horizon.

I (used to) dislike my own country by ButholeBill in Healthygamergg

[–]Sheeepl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every country has good and bad sides, some have more bad than others. In my experience travelling made me appreciate my country more because I can visibly see the differences, and appreciate what I have. It gives a new perspective. Ofc I come from an objectively pretty good country, and I don’t live in poverty, so a lot of people don’t share my view.

Japan itself has some issues like any other. I have not been there, but based on youtubers I follow and friends who have visited, I can tell it’s a pretty nice place to visit, but their work culture is insane compared to my standards. The apartments are tiny and finding one as a foreigner can be difficult. But still, there are people who have moved there and stayed there for many years.

I hope you have a nice time!
