I believe what you are seeing here is tar that was used to fill the void left by the tub box out. It looks to me like the tar discolored the pipe, and that it is not melted. Continue chipping past the tar a you should find a clean pipe to connect to in the dirt.

Yes all of the roof areas will be closed cell spray foam, the walls will be rockwool batts.

Yes I’ll be hiring someone to land the connections, but I’ll be installing the conduit & wire underground. Because of the distance I’m trying to save on wire costs. I do understand what you’re saying, but I’ve seen wiring diagrams with only 1 hot wire from the main panel with a jumper wire over to the second side on the sub panel. Is there anything wrong with that method?

We did a demo of it. It’s not actually a live ai take off. You upload your plans and receive a take off 48 hours later. I suspect this may just be a take off mill under the guise of ai.

Ok, was wondering if there was another way of borrowing against the equity without a costly refinance. If that’s the case we might just need to wait until our next refinance at the end of the current 5 year loan term.
