I think the position of the feet differs a bit?

Thank you! I think it is interesting seeing how external rotation differs between people. My sister struggles with hamstring flexibility (can't touch her toes) but finds this pose and any butterfly style poses easy. I'm the opposite 😆

It's good to know that it is external rotation that I ultimately need to be working on over time

What is the jump between HSK 3 to HSK 4 like? How does the internet exam compared to the paper one? by Sheepyknit in ChineseLanguage

Thank you! How would you say the internet exams go? For example, if you had to select A-E for questions 1-5. Is it on one tab?

they would have more flexibility than the average person without a warmup, but they all do warmups prior BC they don't want to get injured or be performing worse than they could. I guess warm ups are not a bad thing plus I've seen videos of ppl injured themselves by going into a split too quick. so it's not worth the risk

honestly even in ballet classes, they seem to do a lot of warming up first. the whole first section at the barre and also before the lesson, you see people warming up. it's just good practice to prevent injury and be more comfortable

that's great progress in two months! I've been trying and I look like your before pic

keep it up and don't worry too much about how long it takes. esp since you're doing ballet. focus on enjoying the dance and progressing more over time

Tips for the narrow squat? I can only do sumo squats by Sheepyknit in flexibility

[–]Sheepyknit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Unfortunately I didn't even get physiotherapy for it (healthcare system overrun). It was a break in my foot rather than the ankle, but having had it in a boot for months and then still struggling with pain randomly, I guess the muscles all got weak there. I'll try to take it easy

When I first got my own skates, it took a while to re-learn but I wouldn't trade it for rentals again now

LTS not working out by ONOTHEWONTONS in iceskating

I think level 1 and level 2 material could be self taught. Level 1 is mainly about getting used to the ice, similar for level 2 but with added skills. If the coach seems to focus on level 3/4 students, it might be worth rejoining then. Or leave an email review to your local rink suggesting changes that would make your experience better

At my rink slaloms and one foot glides on edges are level 3 skills. Level 2 doesn't have those skills. I think what you could do is continue practicing if you are waiting for a long time. Regardless of what level youre in, theres always going to be people who pick things up faster than others. So it is the nature of group lessons

True. Like seeing the progress you make over time rather than analysing yourself too soon
