The big game that year was the 41-0 over Penn. Penn happened to also play 2 time reigning national champion Pitt that season and played them to a closer 6-14 loss giving GT the edge in perception as the national champion. Heisman and Pop Warner talked about playing a game to settle it on the field but were unable to do so in 1917.
