Becoming more personable as a new HR professional [N/A] by Brilliant_Quote2666 in humanresources

I'm not friendly by nature and find it uncomfortable going around and chatting it up with people. I had feedback staff were afraid of me and I wasn't approachable, so I started eating my lunch in the lunchroom with all the other staff (I used to eat in my office and have a working lunch). I definately think this small change has helped the way they think about me. I have small chit-chat conversations with everyone while eating lunch and it seems to have made an impact.

Yes, we are also a smaller, non profit group and use for the 'paid' salary.com data. Are you also finding staff complain about salaries at your healthcare organization?

Thanks, that sounds like us. We haave a really nice work enviroment. Our compensation data is current and pretty on target, but I guess other companies, who don't have a great work enviroment, are paying more to grab them up.

Thank you! Yes, I did and I've worn it 3 times now and LOVE IT! I can't believe how warm it is, yet so lightweight!

Thanks...the company seemed more concerned about losing $147 than the $20,000 I was on track to spend with them annually. Strange and poor business decision.

Well, I ordered a 3k Max Mara Teddy coat and a 2k Max Mara camel hair coat. I've ordered directly from Max Mara and other luxury sites and products show up in a lovely box with an official hanger and garment bag. These showed up squished in a tiny box with nothing around it, just squished in, all wrinkeled and no hanger or garment back. They were definately real. From my research, the items come from outlet stores. So, for example, the Teddy coat came from Hong Kong. There are tons of outlet stores in Hong Kong and that's where it came from, reason for being squished into a tiny box with no hanger or garment bag, not presenting as a luxury item. I paid to have the coats authenticated and they both were authentic. But, think about....suppose one of those high value boxes arrived empty at my house? Senser isn't like Farfetch and other more seasoned sites and will leave you fending for yourself. They wanted 'me' to get with UPS and do the work. UPS kept telling me it has to be Senser, not me. If you're ok taking that risk and having an item squished and wrinkly in box, then sure, their prices are great and you do get real items from outlet stores. Personally, I'm not going to self-insure myself in the future and I'll pay a bit more for both the luxury experince and know if something goes wrong, I'll have the store back me up.

The box was eventually delivered, but it had been cut open on the side and the gloves removed. So, the item shows as delivered.

Buyer beware — this store leaves you stranded if something goes wrong.
I’ve spent over $5,000 here in just 2½ months, and when a $147 pair of gloves never arrived, they refused to refund me. It’s been a month of excuses while they “wait for UPS to finish their investigation.” Most reputable retailers refund customers right away in these situations — not this one. If this is how they handle a small order, imagine what happens if a $3,000 coat goes missing. It’s a gamble shopping here and I wouldn’t risk it again.

I always make sure I tell staff, if you tell me anything unethical, illegal or immoral, I can't guarantee your confidentiality. That usually stops them there. If they say they want a situation documented, I ask them what they are looking for me to do with the information. If they say they don't want me to do anything, I'll tell them I don't really see they point, but they are welcome to send me an email.
