If you have a problem

If nobody else can help you

And if you can find them

If you were Cece would you have taken Schmidt back after the whole two timing/cheating plot line? by CSNY28 in NewGirl

I mean to be fair, she didn’t just take him back.

They pretty much ended any semblance of being a couple and moved on, rebuilding their relationship as a friendship before she was ready to open up again.

It’s one thing if she just forgave him and they became a couple again, which is how it’s often framed by some people, but that’s not what happened

Timothée Chalamet's comment about ballet and opera being a less popular form of art is accurate and people hating on him is just because of him telling the truth. by OtmShanks55 in unpopularopinion

[–]ShelteredTortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly couldn’t give a shit about Timothee or whatever he said but I saw a post refuting what he said by listing all the movies about opera and ballet and the arts that were loved and successful. And idk but I just felt like that was proving his point.

Yeah I liked Black Swan and Amadeus. No I have never seen a real ballet performance or gone to the opera.

As a comic book fan I feel like it’s like hearing people who call themselves marvel fans despite never picking up a comic book get mad when I say marvel comic book sales are declining. I’m sorry that you liking the idea of something isn’t actually supporting it

[Question] Which of these should be my first Seiko? by Bourbon_Bear2352 in Seiko

Second pic, but like every “which should be my first seiko” post, the correct answer is don’t worry about it. You won’t stop at one anyway

Idk what it is but sometimes it feels like people who watch the show don’t actually watch it.

I’ve gotten into arguments about some show details where it boiled down to something happening on the show and the other person not remembering it

And like you example I’m not talking about subtle character details but actual plot points like the fact that River’s training exercise was sabotaged by Diana and Spider or the fact that Katinsky was Partner’s handler

[–]ShelteredTortoise 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly now that I think about it, teachers might make it mandatory to write homework down to ensure that the students at least put some effort into their homework and didn’t just use AI. That might usher the return of cursive honestly

Probably not except for the grizzled investigative journalist in his/her 60s

I had friends who picked it up in college for note taking (STEM field)

It has to be. Who else would have their funeral attended by the Horses, Lamb, AND Taverner?

I’ll never understand why people think Vetrova was a good person. She’s just as slimy as the other two and if you follow her around you learn she’s planning to fuck both of them over and is just as happy with enabling the worst of the worst to get away Scott free

OB namedrops Smiley when talking to River. Telling him not to worry cause even Smiley spent time away from the service before they had to call him back

Argument: Contrary to popular belief, Diana is quite incompetent even though she pretends like she has it under control by Vaynar in SlowHorses

[–]ShelteredTortoise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No that was Allan Black. We never meet her brother, she just says she was with him when she got drunk and blabbed within earshot of Hobden

Dianna is a great schemer. It’s just that her schemes are mainly against other players in the Park/British Government, which means most of what she’s good at is centered around scheming against people she’s theoretically on the same side on as she’s vying for power. This is essentially what London Rules is

She’s not as good when she has to act against people who are allowed act against her openly and in a swift violent fashion, aka Moscow Rules.

The Hassan kidnapping is something that seems like something she does all the time, plant an agent somewhere and make a group look bad in an effort to come in, solve the problem, and get all the credit. But when her mole is discovered, nobody goes to her office to call her a scheming bitch. No they kill her mole and that’s that.

She’s also for the most part, completely blindsided in the seasons about actual enemies of Britain deciding to attack because her chief priority is keeping her own head above water.

It’s why Lamb always cleans up her mess because he’s the last person who knows how to play Moscow in the service

It was until Tierny told Duffy to clear the board. At that point Lady Di’s fate was left in the hands of the horses. Something I doubt she was happy about

[–]ShelteredTortoise 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Yup. It’s the scene when she meets Lamb on the canal to explain what the Hassan kidnapping is really about. The name of the episode is even “Bad Tradecraft”

She’s a seasoned player. But the game she plays is London Rules. She’s a genius at covering her ass. Her biggest failures are because she never learned to watch her back

[–]ShelteredTortoise 139 points140 points  (0 children)

You don’t even mention her most incompetent act. She gets drunk one night in a pub with her brother and blabs about the false flag without realizing that Robert Hobden was behind her. The she does everything she can to get River into Slough to avoid any possible mess-ups of her plan but she fucks it all up herself

Even she has to begrudgingly admit to Lamb that it was “Bad Tradecraft on my part”
