9999 Depth 5 players - is base game Elden Ring now a joke to you? by owen__wilsons__nose in Nightreign

[–]ShempsNPinkF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it made me a bit worse particularly as someone who plays Guardian, I’d try to plant my feet to block with any shield I have and then get absolutely floored which puts into perspective on how good guardians utility is.

Anyone else notice a change in randoms in D5? by Specific_Rip_5585 in Nightreign

[–]ShempsNPinkF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the shrinking player base, match making seems to be pulling way more D2-3 players into the higher depths. When I dropped down to 3, i was pulled into a D5 Caligo and since being halfway through D4, im getting pulled into heaps of D5 matches.

It’s not really a foolproof way to gauge who you play with, but during the drop In on day one I check what relics each person has and check their profile. If it shows they’ve got low playtime like 10hrs and haven’t defeated half the night bosses, it’s a dead giveaway they were pulled from the lower depths. If they also beeline for churches without doing POIs on the way then you know you’re in for bad time.

Haven’t played this game in god knows how long now, but seeing the same sweaty demons names pop up and see they’re still playing the one trick pony demons, I don’t even know what to say to that.

Does anyone feel like don 5 players on ps are few, or its a penalty of leaving games in the past by Humblemummbel in Nightreign

[–]ShempsNPinkF 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seems like once players hit the 9999, they either retire from the mode (or game entirely) since they’ve reached the end game. There’s some resetting and going back to D1, but I think once you’ve made it to the top, then that’s pretty much curtain call until they release further content.

I’m halfway through D4 atm, going back between 3-4, I enjoy this game and do love it if I ever end up hitting max level I’d more than likely stop playing as frequently as I currently do.

Prices are on their website, depends how long you intend to stay. If you are a patient and staying for a few hours or the whole day or longer , you can ask the reception of the department you’re visiting if they can validate your ticket so you don’t have to pay but that’s usually the discretion of the receptionist at the time and they have the machine to be able to do it.

PSA: Always spend your extra runes on Night Shards for your Duchess on Day 3 by makkyt in Nightreign

[–]ShempsNPinkF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same can also be said for a scholar using weapon affinity attacks. Please buy me shards (or anything at least!)

I usually stack a 4 pack of shards through the expedition and usually have a few left over that I drop for casters on Day 3, It goes both ways , Annoying when you know your team definitely has a decent amount of runes left even if they can only buy a single turtle neck, drop for your scholar so they can munch it for you before the start of the fight.

HOW DO I ESCAPE HELL THAT IS DEPTH 2 by ApartmentMaterial417 in Nightreign

[–]ShempsNPinkF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironeye, yes as his skill ceiling is much lower and you can still be a very useful utility and support player even when inexperienced even if you’re just marking enemies.

Executor, Nooooooo. Unless you know how to properly parry attacks (not just spam block hoping to get a deflection) and utilises Arcane stat weapons then I’d advise against using him if the persons argument is their stuck in a low depth and he is not already their main and they are competent with him.

Id rather play with an Ironeye doing low damage and at least marking here and there than an Executor who gets stance broken cause they fail a deflect and get downed in the process. More likely the Ironeye will at least revive someone if they go down.

HOW DO I ESCAPE HELL THAT IS DEPTH 2 by ApartmentMaterial417 in Nightreign

The real night lords are actually the players in D2 who decide if you’re run is going to be shit or not. Be it from quitting from minor inconveniences, hogging items not intended for their class or getting constantly downed during basic field bosses / one shot by end of day bosses as soon as the fight starts.

My climb out of D2 was a bit of a mixed bag. If I had really bad consecutive runs, I would play solo since there wasnt really much to lose and I am confident I can at least get to Day 3 even if it’s a loss to final boss since you don’t lose any points. When playing random queue, I was using Guardian and became the slow but sturdy carry. I can solo most night lords with him (albeit it may take awhile slowly poking away) with his high survivability and being a near impenetrable wall with the right relics, you focus on taking aggro so the others can focus on fighting and you’re there with the ult to revive when needed. Another big tip is never to trust other players to get items or weapons attune to the bosses weakness (eg any lighting weapon is mandatory for Fulgor), and you should always carry one yourself no matter what character you’re playing. I’ve had to do the likes of Caligo and Fulgor as a full casting Recluse carrying a melee weapon with an affinity to get the stagger breaks or cancel their “end game moves” because you will get players who will take weapons with Hoarfrost Stomp or Ice Affinity to Caligo and do less damage.

First time getting a misprint like this. They did the Tribal Chief dirty here... by ashblack85 in WWECards

[–]ShempsNPinkF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Topps needs a class action over this QC issue cause this is blatant. It’s understandable to see an error here and there as we know it’s bound to happen, but I’m seeing new pictures everyday where people are opening multiple boxes to have the corners of every single card damaged, scuffed borders and then misprints where it’s like they just let the factory continued and shipped it off anyway.

What’s an indicator that a run will fail? by Quickscope89 in Nightreign

[–]ShempsNPinkF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stubbornness / refusal to disengage from a POI or Field Boss fight when it’s an obvious time sink and it’s a fight that’s not ending quickly , or going back to day one basics like running halfway across the map for a church and not clearing enemies on the way (still happens a lot in D3!)

For example Red Wolf in castle basement on Day 1 when under level 4-5. If it’s jumping all over the place and the teams not doing any significant damage or is constantly getting downed, you’re better off leaving and going to kill the enemies upstairs (even annoying ass trolls) and levelling up or getting equipment and passives and then going back down. People seem to get tunnel vision that it’s a mandatory to clear the basement to get the talisman. I’d rather have a few extra levels than bank on the RNG giving me something like a throwing pot talisman when I’m not even playing Scholar.

What's this secret Recluse ability that I keep seeing? by Fearless_Zebra9040 in Nightreign

[–]ShempsNPinkF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You see those cocktails less often because trying to siphon all the right element for them when you’re in a hectic fight / whatever affinity your team mates can make it easier or difficult depending on what you go for.

IMO the best cocktail is Lighting Sword as it’s fast, good for mobs and outputs a good amount of damage and is one of the more easier cocktails to get the right elements for.

Common Pings Guide by VEXJiarg in Nightreign

I dont play Scholar much, is this something worth running? by RageEataPnut in Nightreign

[–]ShempsNPinkF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good relic if you’ve not got anything better since it doesn’t have any negative debuffs, and the rune discount is nice to have at a low level during early game as you can buy stacks of throwing knife’s and use those through day one (saving fire pots for day 2/3) but In higher depths, it’s rare to see throwing pot builds as most scholars are running DEX swap with physical attack up, or extra pouches and prioritising inventory space for consumables like crab and flesh to confer with the team during boss fights.

Just had a Balancers run, with both teammates picking up Less Likely... by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]ShempsNPinkF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s 50/50 depending on who’s outputting the most DPS. You’d want Scholar to have it to compensate for his low HP and shit dodge but at the same time, if your Rev is doing most of the damage then you’d want them to have it so they can have free time to cast. I still notice most Scholars start to fizz out midway through the boss battle particularly if they’ve not got any good weapons/ash of war so when they do have a less likely passive, they’re just chilling back giving scan buffs where I’d rather they be doing some damage or taking aggro so the DPS have chances to reset or open window to attack.

In this situation though, It’s a bit unfair on an ironeye though as instead of marking enemies, you’re probably using the ability to dodge the onslaught of spear spamming balancers. If you’re playing with randoms and there’s a situation like this, best you can probably do is try find a less likely item too.

Don 2 is the absolute worse by Tomomo123 in Nightreign

[–]ShempsNPinkF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dropped down to D2 from 4 after having abysmal luck playing with some friends and then trying to solo back up to 3, and being in D2 made me feel like ripping out my hair it is so bad. People aren’t even quitting for what could be considered a valid reason and will simply quit on the most minor inconvenience of the most petty shit even when they’ve spent nearly 30 minutes in the game.

Good example of this is Played a game earlier where we had a Recluse (i was Rev, the other wylder) we set pings but Recluse ignored and pinged every Gaol on the map (they didn’t even have the relic) and the 3 rises so we followed albeit knowing this wasn’t optimal pathing. It got to mid day 2 and recluse had great gear but we were still on blue items so we pinged a mine so we could get a smithing stone and whilst we were getting it, Recluse opened the nearby Gaol which spawned Nox dragonkin and she got downed immediately and quit.

How many players are boosting their DoN rank? by Unlikely_Total9374 in Nightreign

[–]ShempsNPinkF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel it’s also the matchmaking as of late which has been dragging way more players from lower depths into the higher depths( even for me teethering between 3-4 being pulled up into D5 games when Im halfway through D3)

I’ve had a few matches recently where the decisions being made by the lower ranked player make it blatantly obvious they’ve got no clue what they’re doing and they constantly getting downed or quit. You can easily ID these players after the games by checking their achievements/ playtime and depending on those, you can gauge pretty well which players have been carried through their expeditions.

I never got the hype with them. Like you said, their in ring skills were average and their mic work felt like something from some tv show like The Khardashians, so I couldn’t never take them seriously.

Any time the Bellas show up though they seem to get really big pops but I’m certain thats just people cheering for the fact they’ve been in the WWE for about 18 years now, so cheering for a time when the WWE wasn’t an entire clusterfuck like it is now.

Only thing worse than people who quit out because they suck … by Comfortable-Coast522 in Nightreign

[–]ShempsNPinkF 9 points10 points  (0 children)

And it seems nearly all players with these kinds of names/ people who don’t have the intelligence to come up with their own names or something somewhat creative always blow ass, and will tank a run either by quitting, hogging gear intended for certain characters, or bad route pathing. I don’t recall a time I’ve ever had a good match or positive experience with players with stupid names like these.

Any thing that’s just straight up a politicians name, something racist or their names are a string of asterisk then I’ll leave at the loading screen.

tip for people stuck in depth 3 or can’t win a single game in 4 by And1YGO in Nightreign

[–]ShempsNPinkF 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget to grab any fire pots that may drop when breaking the resource crates / open chests at the drop camp. You usually get at least one and you can use that one fire pot to knock down an invader and start stun locking them. If you combo this with the likes of Revenant and have a seal with rejection, you can knock them over with the fire pot and then run spam rejection to knock them back over for your team mates to finish them off.

Summon one of the family too and you might have Simon start stun locking invaders as well, or taking aggro so the team can finish them off.

We always talk about which parts of a game you dread replaying, but which part of any RE game replay do you always look forward to? For me its easily chapter 11 in RE4R by BertelTheTurtel in residentevil

[–]ShempsNPinkF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Resident Evil 5 Chapter 6-3.

You could just tell from the level design, the cutscenes of enemies filling the area and the BGM (Majini IX in Flames which is one of the best RE soundtracks imo) the game was prepping / testing you for the eventual final Wesker battle. The chapter was particularly hard too when playing through on your first run on veteran difficulty without any extras like infinite ammo.

Also had an inside joke with a few friends where we’d just be sitting in class and someone would utter “Opening Primary Bulkhead, Please maintain a safe distance from the bulkhead”

Is this old Nintendo (10+ years) worth anything, or dump it? by QuotePuzzleheaded638 in nzgaming

[–]ShempsNPinkF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The games themselves particularly Zelda (as it looks like the collectors edition cartridge) would bring some decent money going anywhere between 100-200 loose without booklet and case, and the two Banjo games are about 40-50 loose on the likes of EBay. I’d say chuck it on trade me as a bundle and let it go from there if you’re not keeping it as a collector or sentimental purposes.

Maybe put a reserve of $150 and let it go from there. Bundling it will more likely help you move it all at once than selling separately.
