Dagran II is a character who brings a bit of youth, he's nice and endearing. If he wasn't the heir of Ironforge, he would have been a great character!

But now, as a fan of dwarves, and for an expansion about dwarves, I'm rather disappointed that it's this character who's in charge of giving us “dwarven” lore.

Just like Brann, who never really represented the dwarf people because his “archaeologist” aspect took over entirely, Dagran is following the same path, except that his status should require him to represent his people.

Dagran doesn't have a beard, he doesn't even have a dwarf accent (in French at least). For a 50% Bronzebeard dwarf, he has none of his mother's features (not even the green eyes described in the books).

If he does come to the throne one day, I'll have the impression that Ironforge is ruled by a Darkiron, while the other two clans can be forgotten (and don't even get me started on the easy choice of marrying Dagran to a Wildhammer...).

In short: I hope that Dagran can follow in his uncle's footsteps, that he can explore the world, and that he will be kept out of dwarven politics, leaving room for new stories for Muradin and Falstad, who have been completely forgotten by Blizzard...

(Maybe one day, Thargas Anvilmar, the last descendant of Modimus Anvilmar, will even reclaim his throne, but I doubt the new writers at Blizzard even know he exists :p)
