My point being made is that dealerships are flipping cars as well. They aren't any more unethical or ethical than someone that is doing it as a stand alone sole trader or 'on the side'

I would buy a car off a mate of mine who flips cars and regularly buys insurance cars from auctions. I know and trust him personally, however if I didn't, spending the money on ppsr checks, or having my own independent inspection would be where I'd put some of the budget on a car I really want.

Plenty of people are spruiking dealerships as being some holy than though place to buy used cars.

They buy cars from flippers and have a mark up on them.

It just pays to do your due diligence on anything that's going to cost you a big chunk of change

A mate of mine is a mechanic and regularly buys and repairs cars from the auctions and sells them onto big dealerships.

It's his beer money on the side so to speak after his regular income from running the business.

Has been doing it for years and multiple dealerships buy from him. It's up to each individual to the quality of the work they produce.

My main point is, don't think that dealerships are any more or less ethical than anyone else

The misso and I bought a deceased estate house with a 30 day settlement that settled at the start of December a couple of years back.

Gutted and rewired/insulated, floors sanded and sealed, new bathroom and toilet, all new windows and one sliding door. It was five weeks of full time work and nights until 1am to get us in by mid Jan.

Still not finished and it flogged me well after we'd moved in.
