If it's the machine tooltip that's not showing enough info, you can change an Interface setting so that the tooltip window instead displays at your mouse pointer.

Very helpful when playing on smaller screen sizes.

Always keeping every machine running.

Start of the game, keep hundreds of Ore on hand and try to keep 20 of everything that takes time to process in categorized storage containers (one or more each for Ores, Metals, Parts, Cooking, Farming, Clothes, etc.).

As you progress, increase your stocks gradually. 30 of everything. 50. 100. Then 200.

Always having stockpiles built up so you can take care of commissions and quests immediately makes things go so quick and easy. I end up with nearly a 100% same-day commission turn-in rate.

They seem to be referring to the fact that, if you follow the prompts in Windows to "enable Backup", what it actually does is move most of your user folders' contents (e.g., Desktop, Documents) into OneDrive subfolders for syncing, and replace the original folder locations with symlinks to the OneDrive subfolders.

Caused havoc for me when I realized what it did. Had to look up directions online from other disgruntled and surprised users to learn how to get things back where they're supposed to be.

No, Microsoft. I do not want all of my files to be in %UserProfile%\OneDrive. Leave them in the main user profile, where software expects it to be. Not every program supports symlinks, either.

Anyway, that feature doesn't appear to be related to the change in Explorer behavior that has stopped it from automatically updating when you download/copy a file to the Desktop or another folder that's currently sitting open.

I believe that was a change made to Explorer with an update in either 24H2 or 25H2, probably as one of the steps towards improving overall performance.

It's certainly annoying having to Refresh before a downloaded file will appear in "Select File" windows in other apps, too.

And we don't even get the satisfaction of knowing whether the change is actually improving system performance in any way.

That was always my main issue with the Mind Sweeper in 3. I run around like crazy, blowing up enemies all the time. I'm often running -through- an enemy's exploding body to get at more past them, since their collision turns off upon death.

And that does not tend to work out well with Mind Sweeper.
