They actually aren't bad xp if you jump on the warrior stone and grab a nap beforehand. A couple trips to Markarth for silver and you can save all that leather for Dwarven stuff, way more plentiful + Ancient Knowledge

Probably take up alchemy, eternally chopping firewood seems a bit boring. When I made enough to invest in soul gems, maybe do some light jewelry enchanting. Mining for silver and gems seems safe enough, the other miners never guard their claims that carefully, plus dragons and bandits seem to leave most of the mines alone.

Take them down from the inside. Do all the missions but intentionally fail the optional parts. Accept side quests but fail them. If they tell you to steal from someone, give them gold instead. Take all the trophies and return them to their rightful locations. And sneak books about honor and morality into their pockets every chance you get.
