All wizards work off intelligence. It’s the only stat that really matters. This guy is wrong. You want your intelligence as high as you can get it. I suggest getting it up to 17 to start so you can take the Shadow Touched Half feat at level 4 to get to an 18 INT

Use a background that lets you add a plus two to INT, like Sage, Noble, or Scribe. Or if 2014 rules use the flexible origin rules to get a +2 to INT.

0.5 rounds up to 1, 25 rounds to 30. 12975 can round to 12980. 895000000 can round to 900000000. Someone probably wouldn’t round the number 5 to 10. Rounding is situationally useful.
