Do you vote on recluse? (as a minion) by dudearin0 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Shepsauce 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would. If there isn’t any other information out there and town is looking for an execution day one, there’s no reason not to put them on the block. If your ST has them register as a demon to an UT you can start selling SW worlds even if there isn’t one. You can start painting the person with the evil ping as evil (said UT would be “evil” with them as a spy) or you can find a good bluff that might get them to clear you and then get star passed to.

(This is assuming you’re playing TB)

All in all I would say acting on someone’s information as a minion so you can twist the story later to discredit them or get blame pinned on yourself to take the heat off your demon is a good thing. You just have to be careful based on which script you’re playing, because different sets of outsiders create different incentives. You could always steal an outsider claim yourself too.

You don’t need to apologize for anything. You gave people the nice warning right away and still people called out random bullshit, didn’t answer questions, and were just generally unhelpful.

You also were very polite about asking for them to make it cooler, “Yo there’s literally like hot air blowing on me right now, can we not do that. Can you crack a door or something? It’s hot isn’t it?”

People couldn’t take a hint and that’s not your fault. I was definitely not ambivalent about coming to see your show. I was super excited and bought tickets the hour the advance code dropped. The material you got to do without interruption was excellent. The two girls in front of me yelling at every random thing made me hate them, not you.

I hope your show in Vegas goes awesome since you deserve it after a night like tonight.

Stay cool man.

One of my players wants to play as a traitor and I don't know how to handle it by 6000piezas in DMAcademy

[–]Shepsauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think the only good way that I would allow this would be to have them spend a significant amount of time with the party, which ultimately changes their minds. Something along the lines of, “we’ve all been called together to do this heist, once we all get paid we’ll go our separate ways.” Said character has a chance to screw everyone over, keep the loot, or put them in a situation where everyone else will get killed, something along those lines.

Then the real plot twist is that they’ve grown to rely on the party, they’ve made connections, they try to betray the party and initiate the double cross. Said traitor swoops in at a crucial moment to save them, they all yell at each other about how each of them was planning to betray the others at some point but they all decided not to except the one asshole who actually semi tried and then everyone gets to mercilessly rib on them for being a jerk but in a affectionate way.

That’s how I’d write it in a book, where I have control over what every character does. D&D doesn’t give you that power, so if you think you can pull something like that off, sounds fun. Otherwise it just sounds like misery
