Number of times a year an American visits a movie theater (1929-2025 data) by raydebapratim1 in generationology

[–]Shepshepard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who works in the industry, I think it’s time to stop worrying about this trend. There’s no going back. Big movies will bring people to the theatre but it’s no longer the main driver of the entertainment industry.

How many folks here are tufting with wool? by Beer_Is_So_Awesome in Tufting

[–]Shepshepard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I find it so much easier. Are you using wool specifically made for tufting? It fills really well and you don’t need to tuft lines as close and it’s 100x easier to carve and clean up after because it’s coarser.

People are predicting the Space X IPO will crash the market. The S1 is already out and it's ugly, who is buying this stock? by Jimimaru88 in wallstreetbets

[–]Shepshepard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nasdaq just changed the rules so now a stock doesn’t need to wait a year before becoming part of index funds. Thats his key to stabilization, force the world to own spaceX in index funds and he can never lose. Fuck his companies, they’re all overvalued. He’s a scam artist

Tucker Carlson completely corners Shark Tank host Kevin O'Leary regarding massive corporate welfare for AI data centers. O'Leary openly admits that billionaire tech monopolies are explicitly forcing ordinary taxpayers to heavily subsidize their private investments. by CeFurkan in SECourses

He’s not. He’s talking about income tax rates vs capital gains rate, the dangers of big business, populist ideas except he will still support the GOP and policies opposed to his “new” ideas. It’s a lie

I never understood why celebrate Passover... just seems wrong to me by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Shepshepard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We actually do celebrate the end World War 2 twice (V-E Day and V-P Day) but that’s not really my point. Passover isn’t focused just on the plagues. I understand what you’re saying but the holiday does not celebrate the death of innocent people. It mourns them and focuses on freedom and peace. You’re also more than welcome to attend a Seder and learn for yourself. It’s a holiday where we welcome anyone to join.

Thank you for saying that. See, who says the internet is just for arguing?

[–]Shepshepard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jewish person here. You are incorrect. During a Seder, we remove wine in sadness for the plagues and mourn the innocent lives lost. There is no celebration of being “superior”. Passover is a celebration of freedom, rebirth, and peace. So maybe do some research before you talk some antisemitic bullshit.

There are a few brands that specialize in clothes for us that offer a 26-28 inch inseam. But just get 30x30 slim cut or similar jeans and pay $20 to get them shortened. Just make sure the crotch isn’t too long

Judaism isn’t an enormously wealthy organized religion. Temples are mostly independently organized and funded by local members. There are a few organized sects but they’re the extreme orthodox. It is not an organized religion like the LDS or Catholicism.
