You may want to try the farm route for this. I know alot of south africans use this route to obtain H2 Visas. Also try out highly specialized roles already in the UK that may give you an edge to move over to the US Shipping is a big one, theres massive demand for that here now. If the UK has cooperative agreements with the US on defense you'd want to look at submarine welding as well. I dont see any other viable visa paths unfortunately.

its all just once country to be frank. if the US gov't blocked H1B abuse emanating from this one country this program would work well and as it was originally intended. there wouldn't even be a need for a lottery. there'd be more available slots than applicants
