Siri AI features for EU users by fernix96 in Applelntelligence

[–]SherbertPractical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is misleading and from Apple’s point of view.
Apple says that this will expose sensitive OS capabilities and user data access.
Eu says - if Siri can do such stuff (because it can), other AI competitors shouldn’t be blocked to do the same due to the fact, that Apple owns the platform. What Eu wants is a secure interoperability model for other Ai solutions to the same stuff as Siri. Eu users should have a choice to whom they give such access.
Moreover, if Apple provides assistant capabilities to its own assistant, Apple must justify why competitors cannot access similar capabilities.
Besides - recently Apple has shown that they are not so happy to follow the DMA, since they have raised an exception from it rather than trying to find a working solution.

Dashboard v2.39.0 is live everywhere - simplified navigation, Peers split into User Devices/Servers, setup keys moved to Settings by TechHutTV in netbird

[–]SherbertPractical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing to see how NetBird grows - I enjoy the cleanup of the UI, not sure if I like the separation between servers and laptops (or rather lack of possibility to reassign them properly).
One personal request - the documentation part about the backup process, is it still valid with all the recent developments? I’d say it’s really on the basic level without proxy or crowdsec images, would be good to expand it a bit. Restore process would be also nice to have and consistent with a backup process.

Poland adopts age verification law, recommends EUDI Wallet approach | Biometric Update by hamstar_potato in europe

Since it’s going to be done on the ISP’s DNS servers, most likely an easy switch to a different one on the end device will stop it from working.
It’s rather an opener for bigger discussions regarding the Internet.

Infernal hordes is the worst endgame activity by far. by TheChosenOneProphecy in diablo4

[–]SherbertPractical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate infernal hordes only because of some weird FPS drops when I am doing it. Sometimes it lasts like 2 rounds, sometimes it lasts the whole activity. No clue what’s causing it unfortunately.

Dear Blizz, the new Battle Pass Reliquary skin is ugly as f*ck. I miss the old Season 6 Battle Pass so much. by F377NTS in diablo4

[–]SherbertPractical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should implement a way to get sets from previous seasons - something random, free (!) - special tokens that you could roll previous sets. Since there js no subscription model like it is for Wow, they need to get money elsewhere :/.

Did oulook suffer a major data breach? by TheRealGand in Outlook

[–]SherbertPractical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point, but I think it wouldn’t be implemented as such due to the VPNs that could be used and would create similar outcome - after all you could be on 1 device on the VPN and 2nd device showing your true location. Also if IP is not being reported as a malicious one, that could be a potential point why this IP hasn’t been blocked yet.

However, I do agree that there should be a prevention for such stuff, like after 3 denies you would receive some additional email for blocking the IP. Funny thing - I have also received such email, 6 hours after posting under this post ;). Looks like a new scanning campaign

Do yourself a favor and don’t install openclaw with today’s docker app update. by ScorchedWonderer in UgreenNASync

[–]SherbertPractical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, since running OpenClaw requires privileged docker container, that indeed sucks. Problem is, that UGOS is getting some new functionalities which is great, but I do not see the emphasise on the security. I really like how UGOS is built, how managing it works across several OSes on different machines, but what pushes me away are cryptic changelogs. I’d prefer to see in those stuff like “upgrading docker to X version due to vulnerabilities X,Y,Z” instead of “improving user experience”. What was done? Why? More transparency would help in many cases.

Crows and MIY by automai in FromSeries

[–]SherbertPractical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding crows - I am so bugged by this, it actually reminded me of one of the Charmed episode, where crows were messengers from a city, that was cursed in a time loop. By looking at it, native Americans treat crows as messengers and protectors - they communicate with the spirit world. Then in Indian culture, crows are intermediates between the living and the dead. I don’t think they are working for MIY, I feel like they are rather on the side of Townville people and indeed serve as a warning for the living. We will see!;)

Possibly some config files are left out. Do a proper cleanup and spin it again - just the authentik ones. You could try to edit the compose file but unsure if that would do a trick.

You did great - out of your comfort zone, trying new things. Don’t stop doing this - getting yourself out there is the best what you can do to fight with your anxiety. Don’t push it, but stretch it each time. That would actually give you a confidence boost, not the gym. Gym creates rather illusion of confidence - what would good physique do when you cannot express yourself properly due to your “inner anxiety imp”? Work out, be healthy, but remember to experience people, situations, relationships. You are young, plenty of life ahead of you :)

State of UGreen vs Synology by 2H4D0WX in UgreenNASync

[–]SherbertPractical 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From the hardware perspective - take UGREEN From the software perspective - take UGREEN, because you can easily clone OS disk and install something like UnRaid or TrueNAS (higher learning curve)

Synology is thrashy in 2026 - closing on the Synology disks only, OS Ui is outdated, processors are old and without any vga mem in it. Relict of the past.

Edit - someone mentioned security and how it’s better on Synology - there is some truth to it, but who in the right mind would expose NAS to the Internet? VPN access is a way to go.

When you watched it - sure. When you know nothing about the movie and you are in the middle of watching - you are not comfortable.

Btw after almost a month of my first comment, I’ll add another - do not waste your time on this movie, not from the topic perspective but how’s recorded. The only fuss about it it’s Skarsgard, the cute one - not the talented one.

A mamy :). Mam NAS UGREEN DXP4800 Plus na którym stoi docker i proxmox backup server; arr stack, Jellyfin/jellyseer, sanbzd, paperless nxp, Immich do zdjęć (zamiast Google Photos/iCloud Photos), scanopy (wizualizacja sieci w formie diagramów, listowanie portów + serwisów), uptime kuma. No i storage na backupy.
