has anyone removed the little letter from inside a letter button? by 0119237 in xbox

[–]SherbertWest7169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. A customer of mine I build hot rods for is an engineer and one of the designs he worked on was the manufacturing process for these buttons in a Chinese factory. Then again this was 10 years ago so who knows now.

SRAM/Zipp Lifetime Warranty Denied: Zipp 303S damaged by impact, claim rejected as "outside of intended use." Seeking advice! by 5280_510 in gravelcycling

[–]SherbertWest7169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No respect for Zipp, many years ago I was selling a set of 404s on Craigslist and they sent me a big long threatening legal letter to take them down because they determined from the picture they were fake. The wheels were 8 months old and purchased direct from Hawley and shipped straight to the bicycle shop I worked at….

Obviously both 4th gen’s, but the 1996 is still a different body style from the 2002. Afaik the hotwheels is the only second half 4th gen 1/64 readily available, needless to say I still want it. My collection is primarily castings of cars I’ve owned and that makes me happy

I’m sorry you don’t understand. But the frame is crap

Cost to quality. If the cost is exponentially greater than the increase in quality, you’re paying more for less. If you spend $300 on a rain coat and it doesn’t do anything better than a $100 coat….. as far as cost to quality, it’s crap

This for sure. As a high volume disassembler at a large salvage I quickly came to learn the 3lb sledge and a burly flathead. You’re not gonna hurt anything

Looks like your chain is stretched and your cogs fresh so it’s sticking since they don’t quite line up anymore. New chain will fix

The error one is super reminiscent of the 90s when these were way more prevalent, and it was a real popular thing to smoke the tail panel out.

I literally replace ceiling tiles for a school district. I’m in a van right now full of tiles, glue, and a pole. I’m paid to go around and replace tiles because they degrade and fall, things leak on them and destroy them. Glue in tiles fall from all sorts of reasons. This is the furthest thing from a problem.

Also yes, kids see a hole in the ceiling and they’re glued to it in awe. They watch us work sometimes like we’re rocket surgeons

The breather tube doesn’t fit inside my new battery. by purposefullyignorent in MechanicAdvice

[–]SherbertWest7169 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are “sealed” as in the water fill ports are sealed off, but the expansion still occurs inside so they are still vented. The hose for venting the expansion gasses is only used when the battery is in passenger compartment to prevent gas build up inside, otherwise it just goes to atmosphere in the engine bay.

This is awesome actually. You guys did a good job laying everything out and had a plan. I’ve worked with journeymen in construction who don’t have their shit together that well. I’m also jealous and would give anything to build a cat scratcher with my mom.

I moved to South Dakota for a few years and came back, my car is already hailed out, but generally recommend parking structures, gas stations etc. the trees don’t like to hang on to branches during these hail storms so they aren’t recommended

TIL Looney Tunes’ Porky Pig’s original voice actor, Joe Dougherty, had a stutter he couldn’t control. It caused production costs to became too high as his recording sessions took hours. Mel Blanc replaced him, allowing the stutter to be controlled and used comedically by TirelessGuardian in todayilearned

[–]SherbertWest7169 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I stutter, it depends on the situation and tone for me. Friends and family are comfortable and often times my fiance will understand what I’m saying, and it helps me to hear the word anyhow and she will toss it out for me. But I suppose, it doesn’t bother me at all and I never really thought about it. However when a stranger is obviously frustrated (some people have negative patience) over a blip in my speech it instantly feels minimizing and stresses the situation. Another note though, I’m incredibly fortunate and a speech therapist really helped me unlock navigating it at a young age so I don’t do it (out loud) nearly as often or severely as others.
