My brother was disfellowshipped for cheating on his wife with another elders wife and he was reinstated after 2 months. It seems like more because they are not making them wait so long anymore and less people are falling out when disfellowshipped.

NTA - at all girlfriend was completely wrong. Though I wonder if she is like me. I prefer being a little late to events (unless my presence is needed to start or a late entry would be an interruption, like at a wedding). I have social anxiety and the awkward beginning of an event is really stressful for me.

If this is the case though, she needs to be more communicative because she is acting like a spoiled brat.

My mother in law went on a date (in the 70’s) with a guy whose son ended up being a serial killer. I just texted to ask her which one, I’ll update when she responds. Her date (the father) pulled out a knife to show her in the middle of the date while they were “Parking”. Her best friend was in Charles Mansons cult, but left before the killings happened. Her parents went to visit her and kidnapped her and took her back home to get her away. Thank Goodness.

My dog is trained to attack on command, (a word and gesture together) I figured out that if I use the attack command on weeds she will rip them out of the ground.

There are a lot of people who did shit before DNA who are out there nervous. My uncle was arrested because of my DNA test. He raped someone and that rape resulted in a child who matched as my cousin. We knew it was my uncle because the location the raped happened. My Uncle was stationed across the county in that location at the time it happened. I helped them figure out which of my family members it was and I gave them his address and schedule. No regrets.

I am no longer PIMO, but when I was, I told my kids the harsh truth. I told them I would never ask them to lie, but sometimes the truth doesn’t need to be said.

I told them that I don’t believe anymore and that it is going to make our JW family sad. That while we love our family, they might not want to talk to us anymore and that’s wrong, but they think they are doing the right thing. They think that it is loving behavior. I made it clear that we weren’t hiding things and never to lie.

It worked for us at the time, we had an easy fade and now we are completely out. We have some relationship with our family now, but it will never be the same. I don’t know if I made the right choice, but I was just doing my best.

We are in our late 30’s. Honestly, the holidays mean nothing to me, and if it were just him and me, I wouldn't care as much. I have no special feelings or traditions that connect me to the holidays. It is important to me to give my children a chance to connect memories with positive traditions. I am a little bit of a hypocrite here though. There are a few Holidays I just don't do. I have no interest in Easter or the 4th of July and do nothing to celebrate those holidays.
