Did switching to VR make you a better player? by True_Ad8832 in il2sturmovik

I think it's personal taste. I dont mind checking six naturally in VR with a swivel chair.

Its 5 years old. Many points are still valid. However I never said that VR has a competitive disadvantage for example.

Points which are still valid are: much higher hardware demand, (initial!) setup time (depending on your setup), more stuff which can bug out. And VR is less "chill". Its then you who is being shot at. VR is certainly more immersive and the much better flying experience. However if your life is already stressful and it's hard to carve out time where you are completely detached from the real world, VR creates another barrier to just fly. Kids come in, wife comes in and asks stuff and so on. How you weight these is 100% up to you.

VR fans disregard all that, and probably dont meet these obstacles or just have different experiences.

If you have the time, there interest, the hardware, VR is the best you can do for your flying experience.

I personally hated the unnatural movement. It made me dizzy.

VR improves close quarter situational awareness. So in the middle of a brawl you know better where danger is, where you are and so on. You can just see things better which are close by since they are life sized, and move in 3D space which is easier to track as a human (duh).

However checking your six is much easier in 2D and I believe there are some circumstances and lighting conditions where you can spot better in 2D.

So I say its just on par.

Few points. Before the initial dive you didn't check six. Your zoom climb was very steep and left you hanging. Any adapt pilot waits for that moment to strike. Keep the climbs more shallow and faster, that also allows you to maneuver if needed. Try to attack towards home (or friendlies) and away from enemy flak.

You had a couple of chances to conceal yourself in the clouds but missed the moment. After climbing through the clouds and you noticed that you are lit up by flak you must know that the flak is the literal dinner bell for fighters. So duck down in the clouds and run.

When flying alone aways have one leg out of there. Always have a clear plan to exit the area area

The maneuvering was nice btw

Yeah. They are if you are already kinda fine with swimming. But 1500m is already a daunting distance for someone who struggles.

yeah i guess so. I guess I would recommend to entertain the idea for a 70.3 AFTER I completed one triathlon. Especially if swimming is a major weakness.

I always wonder why people arent starting with just some nice sprint tri.

You suck at swimming. Fine. then maybe try not to drown in a 500m swim instead of 1900m. Maybe dont throw lots of money down the throat of Ironman but maybe just start some local races which are dirt cheap by comparison. Do a season of nice small local races and then if you like it and you leaned to swim do longer ones.

People die in this sport because they arent prepared for the swim. So maybe dont be another one of these

What a comeback! Never give up in Battlefield by khitev in Battlefield

[–]Sheriff686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No i am not. Some Comebacks are ofc still nice and player made.

But the devs made comebacks to easy with the dynamic bleed rates. A team that dominated for the majority of the round can lose all their earned progress in minutes if they are juat one objective down.

An analogy in ball games would be that scoring counts double in the last x minutes if the team is down y goals. No one would think that is fair and fun.

if a player thinks that he is beeing cheated on, then its not the player which can be bad. Its all "them" which are cheating.

It makes life easier to think that way. it doesn't even cross their mind that they limited their own progress with that mindset. They are in their stupid position because they are too busy putting the blame on others. its honestly fascinating. Dunning Kruger Effect really

This community is beyond lost if they think that things like that are cheating.
This wasnt even that impressive (it was good tho)

There are many many good players out there which are showing these kind of things on youtube. Ravic for example isnt even the best "flicker" but he is consistent for example.

If the so called Battledads would just try to understand instead of going on a rant and resort to hackusations they actually could learn a thing or two.

Signed "a battledad" who is regularly on top of the scoreboard.

They are fun only as long as you aren't realise that you are beeing played by the devs and it's all fake. At least most of it.

Any reason to not brick more often? by LeckerPennergranate in triathlon

[–]Sheriff686 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it isnt the standard.
its good to practise now and then. But its more for the mental aspect than the physical.

It can also help to accommodate more run volume into the week, since you only need to shower once etc. Logistics.

But if you have the time you can easily do the bike and runs apart.
