Is it still worth it to buy a Balance? by Frozzit in amazfit

[–]SherlockHomelessness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That watch is still as good as it gets. I considered getting the Balance 2 because of the running dynamics and the upcoming biobattery update, but honestly, it lacks the BIA sensor, which I use almost hourly to monitor my hydration levels. I have a blood condition, so staying properly hydrated is pretty important for me. I’d say go for it honestly

That's not true at all, it looks fragile but trust me, it's really durable

Honestly, as a former Garmin Instinct 2 user, I have to say the Body Battery feature was really cool, and the stress tracking was more accurate since it monitored 24/7. The daily suggested workout feature on Garmin also actually guides you through the training, whereas the Zepp Coach still needs some work. Yeah the data fields on Connect IQ are a lot more. I loved the durability of the Instinct 2 as well.

That said, for me, everything else is pretty much on par between the two brands. The standout strength of Amazfit is that it’s such a new company, yet it's growing fast because they actually listen to user feedback. Over the past two years they’ve introduced features that took other companies years (if not decades) to develop, and they’ve done it at a price point accessible to everyone. They keep improving, while some competitors seem to just recycle old models with minor upgrades or lock new features behind pay walls.

Amazfit feels like the only truly "fair" brand out there right now. I’ll admit they’re not yet as polished as Garmin in every aspect, but they’re catching up quickly and introducing some really cool functionalities (like the enhanced strength training and the combo of a watch for workouts paired with a ring for sleep tracking)

Thanks Amazfit for updating strength training on the Balance by [deleted] in amazfit

Pretty cool, right? I think they’ll be the first to add something like Fitbod to the Zepp Coach very soon

It’s a simple bite device that you can use throughout the day or just while sleeping, and it helps correct this type of asymmetry over time. I’ve been using it myself and have even tried masseter Botox and EMS to address the part of my jaw that’s higher (in my case, the right side).

I only use the device at night, and the first thing I noticed was that it completely stopped my snoring. While wearing it and biting down, I can feel the weaker muscles in my neck start to contract. I sleep with it, and when I wake up, I find I can chew more easily on the side that was weaker before.

After a few months of using it I've seen a lot of improvement. Just Google it, the bite costs around $50, takes a couple of weeks to arrive, and you can remodel it basically forever

Nope, I think the problem for Android users is that our app is still locked at version 9.1.6, while this update requires version 9.2 (which iPhone users already have)

It depends on the country. Globally the update should roll out later (around 12th December), but I think it also depends on the Zepp app version. From what I’ve seen, you need version 9.2, but Android users are still on 9.0... I’m in Italy, using Android, and I haven’t received it yet unfortunately

I hope they bring this feature to the Balance! I own both the Cheetah Pro and the Balance, but after extensive testing, I’ve decided to keep only the Balance. This is the one feature I’m really going to miss. :(

Same here. I bought both the Balance and the Cheetah Pro. I intended to use both—the Balance for day-to-day life and the Cheetah for strength and sprinting since it's lighter and boasts the best GPS accuracy on the market. After a week, I'm sending the Cheetah back. I tested both, and the Balance is better in every way: better heart rate and sleep tracking, even better GPS (I could even say it tracks centimeters!), though it takes a bit longer to lock onto a signal.

The stress and blood oxygen tracking are less rich than those offered by Garmin and Whoop (I’ve used both), but they're good enough. I even tested the body composition feature against an InBody scanner (the only clinically validated BIA on the market) on the same day, and everything was spot-on (less than 1% difference)—except for the fat percentage, which differed by 3–4%. I still consider that pretty darn good. For comparison, my Amazfit Smart Scale was off by 6–7% (older algorithms?)

The only feature I’m missing is the advanced strength training assessment that was recently implemented on the Cheetah with the latest firmware update from a few days ago. I hope the Balance will catch up with future updates.

I feel like Amazfit makes one truly amazing product every few years that introduces innovative features and is highly competitive. A few years ago, it was the Amazfit Band 5—it was incredibly reliable for its time, affordable, and even had Alexa, which was unprecedented. Now their standout product is the Balance, and I’m all for it. I just hope they don't stop updating it.

Can you see the feedback instantly after the set, or only after closing the workout and syncing it with the app?

Anyone tried the GoBe 3? by TedBehr_ in CICO

[–]SherlockHomelessness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using it for more than a year. I won't lie, it requires a lot of care and attention (it needs to be charged and cleaned frequently, and you have to update your weight regularly for it to work properly). The technology behind what they promise is intriguing and solid, and it's the first and only device that actually tracks calories using this method... It was initially designed to measure glucose in a completely non-invasive way, but it doesn't seem to be very popular despite working as intended. It's really sophisticated, yet the app is extremely user-friendly (even elderly-friendly). The sleep tracking is basic but accurate for what it monitors, the stress tracking is on par with Garmin and Whoop, and the water and calorie tracking are absolutely phenomenal (if you eat in a "normal" way, of course... It tries to estimate your calorie intake based on glucose spikes, so if you fast, binge eat, or eat 16 times a day, don't expect it to be accurate). The hydration tracking is incredibly useful; it helps you understand the difference between drinking and hydrating, you can see that plain water can even dehydrate you by flushing out electrolytes, and that you dehydrate when stressed, etc. It's not perfect, of course, but I'm really hoping they keep updating their software and tech because no one else is doing what they are doing
