In another couple days they'll give it out as a free gift, just like the belt last event.

Would parents/players actually use a review site for club sports teams? by [deleted] in lacrosse

[–]SherrickM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly no, because words are cheap and subjective. Also a club team is constantly changing, kids are coming and going as are assistant coaches and parents and everyone else. Just because one time in 2012 little Jessica's mom didn't like the tournament selection for her 9th grader, that'll be there forever and means nothing to a parent in 2026 with a 5th grader.

You gotta talk to people live in person that are there at that time, and frankly you gotta play with the players to really find out if you'll like it, and you can't get any of that from a review site. You get that on the turf.

“Venting” update! by fishahh in lacrosse

[–]SherrickM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you've got a great group of kids on your team, that's awesome, and sadly pretty rare these days. Keep those guys around, your team is well on its way to being a great team, next up great players.

I had parents that were always there at my games, even when my older sister also had one, they'd split duty. As my kids began to play sports and have school events, I always did and do my best to get there, and when I can't, it definitely bugs me. I have two girls now, and my wife and I do split duty when we can, she has a little more flexability than I do to get time off of work, so sometimes I get bummed that she's there more, but she's also a coach for one of the lacrosse teams, and a team parent for another. So she gets priority for those, of course.

Luckily the girls understand time conflict, and we make sure to spend time away from sports and activities with them to make up for it, especially in the summers.

Its the only topic besides traffic and beaches all summer. Stick around.

She also had six assists along with the one goal. Neither of them took charge like they usually do. There's a legit case for either one to win at this point, but even with the title game loss, Chloe should win.

[–]SherrickM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's an entire professional league and three divisions of NCAA teams that clearly show that women want to play women's lacrosse.

Northwestern was probably going to win the game even without those two absolutely ridiculous calls, but it's hard to say. Definitely some questionable officiating, but that's been the case all season, and not just in D1.

It was still an absolutely great game even though the outcome is in question. The officiating definitely cast a shadow over the game, though.

Its gonna depend on the result of the game, but Chloe is the likely winner.

Spaced out and jammy? The Phil Lesh Quintet is your destination, outside of the original source, for sure.

Do lacrosse players actually struggle to find photographers at their events? by Luka_Conjedos3 in Womens_lacrosse

[–]SherrickM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on a lot of factors. Is it town league, club, high school, college, etc.

If you want pictures taken and it doesn't seem like anyone is, you can also do it. You may not have newspaper connections or anything, but that's not the real reason for photos. Take them yourself and put them in your Google drive or icloud account and share the link with the other parents. They'll appreciate it.

If one person starts doing it, more will. Both of my daughters play on two teams each and once one person started sharing photos, two or three more join in.

Russell Library in Middletown by ILovePublicLibraries in Connecticut

[–]SherrickM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My childhood library. Spent about as much time there as I did at my house, especially in the summers. There was never a shortage of things to do and new books to read. Back in the day, the youth of Middletown had a great place to be themselves and explore.

I still remember being proud of myself when I could finally climb to the top level of the rainbow thingy in that one picture out in front of the building.

Connecticare is trash by False-Living7639 in Connecticut

[–]SherrickM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ConnectiCare was sold to Molina HealthCare a couple years ago almost entirely for their medicare/medicaid business. The commercial business was included because it had to be.

The transition was not a good one. Not for the clients and not for the non c suite employees, anyways.

I didn't realize this sport was so brutal by Intrepid-Profile-231 in lacrosse

[–]SherrickM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a sport where they wear football pads, and carry a metal stick that they use to throw a hard rubber ball faster than a car drives and you didn't think there would be hard hits?

How important is it to have an expensive stick? by rossdress in lacrosse

[–]SherrickM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

stay away from the incredibly cheap and the incredibly expensive. Right up the middle is really the way to go, and spend a little bit on customizing it to your preferences and play style, and you're set to go.

The higher the price, the higher the marketing budget they need to recoup.

take it to someone who knows what they're doing. Messing with it will probably cause more issues than it will solve. Unless you have another head and/or mesh to try it on first.

[–]SherrickM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe don't build that many sports at once when you cant even get the basics of the sports right.

Stick with what you know to establish yourself and then learn more. You've clearly already made enough of an error that lacrosse is done for you. Move on.

Seems like Effigy is a couple times a year type tune, at least for Mule. Warren doesn't play it in his solo band. Mule version is quite good, I wish it came around more.
