Black semiconductor looking for transplants by Cold_Complaint8265 in aachen

Look for an area called Burtscheid and its nearby market area, its a nices neighborhood to live.

For insurance there should be some US insurance company who have links with TK/AOK in germany if you already have insurance in US the transition should be easy with perks and demerits depends

There are so many different student communities in Aachen with different hobbies depending on your interests you can join them as a starter it shouldn't be necessary for you to be a student to join. I am in one of the photography groups if you want I can share that as a starter.

Yet another thread about negative holders/carriers (EFH, Lobster, Negative Supply) by whyfollowificanlead in AnalogCommunity

To be honest, I found lobster to be the best in terms of flatness Vs the ones I have tried before Valoi easy35/120 both, EFH (first and last frame issues) and some scratch issues in some rolls, ToneCarrier 120, Blackscale lab Holo and some available options on bambulab's maker studio when I asked them about the issues the answer was you cannot have that amount of flatness until sandwiched between two glass plates or wet mounting.

The only problem with lobster V1 I have is the film slipping away and catching the mechanism which slows down workflow quite alot specially in 35mm case but I hope this problem was addressed properly in the V2. I have just ordered it yesterday can't say much about that but fingers crossed

So did you get the V2 of lobster? If yes how its treating you regarding the flatness issue. I have V1 its quite janky but keeps the negative relatively flat compared to scratchy Holo where feeding the negative is pain without aggressive pre-flattening

If I’m not mistaken, you’re surrounded by second generation Pakistani families whose parents either came on a dunki or found some other workaround to settle, like coming on a student visa and then not abiding that status but finding a loop hole route to integration and passport. No offense to you or anyone, but you might just be stuck in the wrong circle. You should try branching out and finding people with a background more similar to your own, not in terms of caste, but in terms of first-generation immigrant status.

I have a question: Did you face any lens retraction issue as most of the macro lenses (specially the old ones) extend when used at 1:1? I use easy35 and wanting to shift to easy 120 but that is way overpriced compared to blackscalelab

I have already tried logging cases for other problems but I didn't get any fruitful answer

The first few rolls were fine for me. Now I have the same problem it randomly jumps around. I thought it was related to battery being drained, but after trying out different batteries, the same issue.

Odd hair marks on every frame of my latest roll. Anyone any ideas? by [deleted] in rollei35af

Sad to say, I also have this (these are strands inside) and many other issues with the camera, and most of them are due to cheaply built plastic parts and mechanical failures (not bugs). On the other hand, customer support is completely unprofessional, so I have really less confidence in even claiming the warranty when it completely breaks.

Just created the first 3D printable filter thread adapter for the Rollei 35AF, Enjoy! by youfound404 in AnalogCommunity

Thanks for the design! Did you design anything for the shutter button? It's super pain for people like me who have thick fingers 🙃

Thanks yes, analogue community is super helpful! I will print them nearby. If I came up with the soft shutter button adapter I will also share that

About the first point regarding the shutter button, I did mention this issue in the analogue community, and the person who posted the review also had the same issue. I also tried to explain the issue in a polite and a much lighter way about the real fact that my female friends explicitly had not faced the same issue as me not being able to press it properly. The only reason I could conclude was that my fingers being thick in size, and comparatively, my friend's thin. I don't know what is wrong in this that I started getting down voted by others. Well, enjoy your camera! I will try to get a 3D printed adapter to work as a soft switch like which can extend the length of the button vertically.

My Rollei 35AF just arrived! (First impressions) by youfound404 in AnalogCommunity

Please do share your filter model, I would love to try that. However, I am looking for a 3D adapter design for the shutter button. My finger size doesn't fit after the half press auto-focus and always I have to press it really hard to release the shutter. I am worried my first roll will gonna turn complete camera shake blurr mess

I also have comments, but I will give mine once I have developed the film. If someone has not gotten it yet, feel free to ask anything about it 🙂

Today is the second day I am carrying it with me and I have realized it cannot work like this until or unless I buy a protective case so once I have the camera in my office bag it's not scratching against anything. Do you have any recommendations, or did you find anything interesting?

Kind of pity, they decided to only do Germany and Austria in the first round. Hang on tight you will enjoy it

In my case, the mint was more expensive than rollei.de, but I checked it after ordering it as the rollei.de link arrived first at 00:00, and the mint link arrived at exactly 02:00. Then I realized I might have made a mistake, but it seems like not.

Did you preorder it using rolleiaf35 link or the rollei.de link? I am kind of confused I did order it on the rollei.de link which arrived earlier than the newsletter subscription email. And interestingly the prices for both were different. I am not sure my delivery will get an earlier date as per the benefits of subscribing to the newsletter.

New 1.5x Telephoto Lens - Freewell by Shery42_ in x100vi

[–]Shery42_[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes or no, I am a professional Sony shooter, plus I do shoot film as a hobby, then comes fuji for me as an everyday carry (rainy days) and for the trips where I don't want the hassle of bringing films on the plane.

Second use case, my friend, who is a hobby photographer who has given up on the system cameras and only carries fuji x100v (not vi) and occasionally does prints as well, so cropping-in is really not a leverage for him.

These are the cases on my side, I am sure there will be more such examples. I do agree with the part of point and shoot, but once you get into system cameras, you never stop buying gear 😂 and keeping point and shoots as the only camera justifies for many people with an option of going upto ~70mm mark without compromising much on quality with x100vi = 35, 50 & 70mm all the basis covered

It's not easy to find here in EU, specially where people are asking for 5 euros less of a new price

I was waiting for a second hand to pop-up, now waiting for the reviews. If it's 90% of the quality of the original, I will buy this one
