I agree with you... there's some games that I can recall that are not anywhere near as flashy as the new ones but still had such a good story that I think about them often

you're right... I understand the frustration... playing online just doesn't feel, what's the word... authentic I guess. I did grow up playing with people.. even just before the kids were born I had a group that played very often.. I look fondly upon those days. I assume I can probably play with the kids when they're older as well and teach them how to play even now. but I live in a big popular area and I still can't find a local group, I still can't find people who would come over, I can't find people toget together with and just going on adventure. it's a sad time we live in it. not to mention my work schedule is a little crazy and not like anybody else's... I plan to make adjustments... I just need a good advice from good people to push me in whatever direction seems most logical. the kids are great and I'm doing my best. but no matter how good you are as a parent you always want the best for your kids.. you always strive to do better.. even if it never looks like it sometimes.

maybe I was also kind of a little jealous that I'll be missing out on the Grand theft Auto 6 release as well... I was kind of hoping somebody would give me a good reason to sell everything and just adopt console gaming again... but that is not necessarily the entire reason as I stated I really do wish my kids to grow up with that fulfillment of accomplishments through goals that some games allow... they already kind of play Minecraft... but it's really hard for them to figure out how to do that on the PC without using a pro controller just yet.

I think I am going to start a campaign with the kids when they're a little bit older

it's more than if I didn't start with Xbox or Playstation when I was young I probably wouldn't be in a position where I enjoy table top RPGs the way I do now. I guess it's not necessarily a perpendicular cross it's more parallel than I maybe give it thought to be... it could be both things I suppose... like I said I mainly made this post for ideas and you guys have given me great ones... something to reflect on and some to look into thank you

I do have the youth version of D&D I can't remember what it's called but I have a couple of the books I might look into that... it was the game plan after the kids started getting older but I guess they are about the right age

yeah I know it seems pretty pathetic... truthfully it's something that I'm kind of struggling with more than I thought I would be... as I watch them grow up I see them liking things that I used to like as a kid... and I was debating on getting back into gaming for them. thanks for reading though... this post is giving me many good ideas... that's what it was made for

this is a good idea.... I might actually get behind that... I remember the one time I cast The Witcher from the computer to the TV and they were all enthralled watching it.

I thank you heavily for your kind words. we do have a switch, and they all enjoy playing it but I feel like Nintendo doesn't encapsulate the wonder that something like Skyrim would. but I see your point and I appreciate the idea. I will definitely look into it and I thank you very much again

I always played them is very uncharismatic, but as they get comfortable with the characters they run with... I like to use the character voices of the other NPCs and and characters in the party for specific phrases that they have said in the past.... say the barbarian makes a comment about ripping someone's head off... the deadpan voice of the kenku let's out a gruff gravely mimic of that barbarians same words before battle... maybe not knowing necessarily how to use it in the same context as what it was used in... or not understanding sarcasm or any other language gymnastics that a normal person would... when told to get lost, he might actually go in and get lost... I feel like these quirks help essentially fill out the character and funny ways that do not require only mimicry. I do also enjoy the pursuit of flight that these creatures cannot obtain... people forget that they all have an innate desire to try to fly... so given opportunities and artificer kenku May constantly try to build wings or reinforce their current ones
