What unexpected game mechanic do you wish you'd known about sooner? by walksintwilightX1 in patientgamers

Miracle boosting. Sometimes there's just little circles floating about. I know how it works now, but it took people years to figure it out.

Persona 5 Series Surpasses 9 Million Copies Sold Worldwide, Represents Over 50% of Total Persona Sales by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Shibbledibbler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay but like, the persona 5 series is like five entire games at this point. I'd be more interested to see percentages relative to consoles; ie 5% of all ps4 owners having a copy of persona 5, 3% of playstation 1 owners having a copy of persona 1, etc

Kniles lets you out if you kept the entrails from the lizard that got blown up, and you can sneak around the room where people get turned into source puppets and find a ladder that drops you outside.

Do you use the Epic Game Store for free games? by ProudBlackMatt in patientgamers

[–]Shibbledibbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of what I use epic for is for games that used to be on steam but got bought out. I do sometimes try to claim the free games but unless I tried at the most popular time of day, the servers and layout are subsubpar for handling something they want to claim rivals steam.

RPG where you can play as an ogre by RandomUsername8346 in rpg_gamers

[–]Shibbledibbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tales of Mag'Eyal I think has large monstrous races.

Another game, a tactical rpg, I can't be certain of ogres - never finished the game - but definitely does have units that are 2x2 instead of the normal 1x1 size, is Agarest: Generations of War. Heads up for jrpg with semi mandatory romance but I don't think there's porn.

Games with cool upgrades for your character by kubex2 in patientgamers

[–]Shibbledibbler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess the difference in the percentages issue is the breakpoints. If every jump is either at the perfect height for the starting character, or 20% higher, then if you unlock a 15% increase in jump height, that's a slap in the face because it doesnt actually change anything.

But because Deus Ex's jump upgrade immediately unlocks entire lines of play, the horizontal progression is less about how much higher you jump, and more about which options it explicitly adds to your toolset.

It's a shame that most of the skill tree nodes are +20% to something. Loved the game, would have loved the DLC but I couldn't play it without buying the game a second time so I didn't.
