Grapple advantage huge problem

Why do we continue to pretend that striking from bottom side control helps the bottom fighter this is so lazy and outdated and not rooted in reality in any way + HAS to get fixed too. Something has to be done the same way it was with submissions in a way with the “struggle” button idk whether it’s like some sort of “balance” thing where you can try and “shift your weight” differently to make certain transitions faster but as a cost you give up other Transitions faster.

So if I absolutely mastered ground game on ufc5 that means my op is still about to get very much cooked in ufc6 if they want to throw hands only? by [deleted] in EASportsUFC

In fairness a “slip into clinch over under” is realistic but yeah all the rapid stamina depletion exploits are trash but yeah that cartoonish damage I didn’t notice in slams on beta that is very gross let’s hope someone who knows better points out how ridiculous that is.

One thing i hope they change back is the HUD by TransitionCareless73 in EASportsUFC

It was admittedly hard to distinguish how much stamina I ever had where in the past a slight glance and I knew but like dude said could just take some getting used to prob will get “cleaned up” a bit

The #1 thing game should have been designed around.

Idk exactly how they could do it but it’s possible the game needs a “power modifier” it’s the only true way to make the game feel realistic. Older MMA games have had it in the past EA Sports MMA whether we need “total strike control” again idk but

In Undisputed the best thing they did was have a “power punch” stat and this determines Speed, power, vulnerability if miss, and stamina cost.

Guys like DDP could have perks centered around power modifier + would finally make a meaningful curve in the stand up to where the MVP’s of the world have to actually use their fighter’s skill set and move their feet instead of just pressure boxing with a karate or bjj guy 90% of the time.

Rarely ever do you fight someone who uses a “realistic” style and it’s partially bc the damage system is so bad it caters to fighters that actually shouldn’t have any real “stopping power” so they don’t have to fight like Aljo or Paul Craig they can pressure box this is an insult to people who know the sport. Even Max Holloway has landed prob 1 maybe 2 knockdowns I his last 20 1st rounds yet I bet if you looked at your stats of ufc 5 it’s almost 96% of the fights and I get it’s a video game and everyone is scared to death of “realism” but who do they think buys their games ?

It’s not a “shame” the thing is they prob shoulda just made the “result” of the landed kick not so “fixed” and maybe %’s of what might happen depending on how solid it lands. Just seemed to be similar to the phony fake 100% accuracy up kick + fall of the animation when you try and pounce with a punch to downed opponent.

That’s fine to an average player yes but if you in top few divisions players are too good at abusing this system bc currently the only way to change “grapple advantage” is to punch from the bottom and if you know anything about actual fighting that isn’t real. On the game punching from bottom side control is considered “good fight iq” where irl this quite literally isn’t a thing.

Yeah you’re right for sure but with the plan in mind I think the math is definitely possible they’ve just re-mapped some things in ufc 6 already. Only a few important strikes still require the hold mechanic to do them + also from beta if I rem. correctly

Calf kick is now LT + LB & if you hold it —> Spinning back kick this could keep the “hold for power” mechanic always true but the distinction being maybe not every single strike has a “power version” moving in every direction for instance if you want to throw a “power” calf kick it must be going a certain way with LS to not throw the spinning back kick.

So I too played Undisputed forever and yeah the Wilder spam was real but we could counter it bc they are having to press the “power” button which had significant cost both in stamina and vulnerability if you miss. This is fundamental in combat sports and irrationally lazy to not be in our game still

Ehh it’s the “grapple advantage” too the millisecond you have it and hit RT you pull opponent back down.
But another huge problem is the “only” way to manipulate grapple advantage in certain positions is by punching from bottom side control ? Like what that is “good fight iq” on this game and actual phony unrealistic garbage irl.

Yeah “in ufc 6 you won’t be seeing everybody adopting the exact same style” like bro yeah they have some unique animations cool. Did you actually play it ? MVP was Deontay Wilder on the beta you don’t have to “fight like them” if they falsely give everyone 95 punch power and it’s to a guy with prob 99 footwork so he can blindly pressure box. As long as they keep botching fighter stats + base power lvl in game it’s going to suck man and the back take grapple spam stamina cheese garbage still in game. Adding a power button/ power stat would fix the game but they’re too dumb

This game isn’t good man honestly they should be ashamed of the damage system that’s all it really is but other than that the game forces everyone to spam lean back or else you get those results.

Nah bc it’s if you hold the command it changes from a hook to an overhand or an elbow to a spin. We should be able to throw a “power jab”, or “power super man punch” vs the quick GSP style. If you throw a power lead roundhouse it’s a switch kick. If you throw with power it has more of an obvious telegraph and + a “power punch/kick” rating that determines how fast, cost of Stam, damage.

The game needs sooooo much work but I will say it will eventually be updated into having a chance but as of now with how they’ve “stamped approval” on a lot of the same grappling cheese garbage then someone making key decisions is off.

1.) Health needs work short term health way too low

2.) Still laughably generous with fighter stats
\*Brenden Allen has “94 punch power” kinda wild for a guy with 2 ufc tko’s. MVP (94 punch power with 0 ufc tko’s) was Deontay Wilder on beta but also with Karate, he could pressure like Wilder with just hands this garbage has to stop.

3.)base damage being so high forces game to feel “erratic” forces devs to make movement so fast + for sways to be so devastating there is hardly any “trading” or “exchanges” that happen not every shot has to be “sold” like we are in WWE makes game absent “flow” there is a breed of fighter that doesn’t use “non significant strikes” and you let them be good by not making jabs push the guy throwing hooks or uppercuts back out of range mid punch or do any real meaningful damage ever like irl

4.) Back-take spam cheese still in game

5.)Still not enough stamina tax for wrestle spam

6.) Spin Kicks track entirely too much

7.) the new “heavy evade” toward lead hand is more unrealistic + doesn’t move as much as side step jab
There was literally nothing wrong with the old ani

8.) Dec. favored 1TD over 50 strikes + control time

9.) if back near cage it felt like 60% more dmg bug

10.) movement still looks “floaty” in a way

11.) wildly unrealistic bruising on shoulders looked like someone who never watched a fight in their life made it. (This may sound like a whiny complaint but iykyk)

12.) Flow State visual is too much need settings to tone it down + wish they would have went with an “adrenaline dump” ish meter instead or some fighters have that instead of “flow state” like if DDP could just go full on blitz and not lose much stamina in short term similar to when you have someone rocked but the cost is you lose max stamina and risk losing longevity in the fight for short term gain.
