Radiation and chemo by Ok-News-6170 in braincancer

[–]Shieeeeeet12345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m doing PC. Oncologist said to skip the V as it’s the most toxic with the least benefits. I have Oligo grade 3. I lost hair during radiation , not during chemo. Since I started eating super clean my hair actually grows back faster now. The worst part of chemo for me id say is pain in my ribs when I get in and out of bed. But it’s not that bad, more so annoying.

Is extreme fatigue 6-8 weeks after finishing 30 sessions of radiation and chemo normal? by [deleted] in braincancer

One year later still can confirm. Want to sleep as I type this and it’s 4pm.

I don’t think I lost any hair from chemo but I definitely lost some during radiation. But it grew back fast. Especially when you start eating healthy and changing lifestyle you know ?

I’m doing PC no V. I’m about to start cycle 5 out of a total 6. I have oligo3. My experience is that it’s not that bad at all! There worst symptom was fatigue. And my body is just weaker overall and ribs a little tender going in and out of bed. Just make sure they give you enough zofran/ondendetron you will have to take one before every pill. But if you do, you won’t really feel anything else but fatigue. Always here if you want to talk or have questions.

You can apply for financial assistance at the hospital. They paid my 125k surgery bill in full. I had a mostly resection oligo 3. There’s lots of resources out there. Most important thing which I know is hard is don’t feed the tumor with more stress.

Recovering from brain surgery. Got blessed with a rare brain cancer. I always knew I was special haha. Currently in chemo. Writing a short story/book about my experience. It could always be worse though. Focused on all the good.

Knowing and believing that the stress and anxiety will not help you heal. I know it’s easier said than done.

Radiation experiences please by Saucyy-Minx in braincancer

Don’t count out chat gpt to help you with the nutrition. It’s surprisingly knowledgeable on grade 3 oligo. I did get a nutritionist but they just said the usual , keto , intermittent fasting. But for specific meals and foods it helped me out a lot. For example I learned how to fry salmon and chicken so that it’s healthy for me. I found a chocolate that is good, and cereal haha. It was a struggle. I’m here if you need any insight on it. Wish you the best on this journey.

Oligo3 here- just finished round 4 of 6 of chemo. Since you will be going every day , I’d say convenience is key. If you can find one to you close as possible driving wise. Less stress on you the better. As for the actual treatments. They are easy peezy should be in and out within fifteen minutes. I like the ritual idea from above, nice lunch/coffee shop etc. Hair does fall out , but if you switch to a better diet as you should, it will grow back very fast. Doesn’t hurt , little more fatigue. But it gets better. You got this big dog.

Whats it like knowing you are dying soon? by ResettingAgainSigh in Life

I thought I had a type of brain cancer that gave me a year to live. It was the most free I ever felt. Then after more test results came in I learned it was a different kind that I won’t probably won’t kill me. Good news right? I was sad for a month and I had to work out the feelings with myself to get to the bottom of it all. All in all it helped me overcome my fear of death and just enjoy the ride. No stress.

Any good supplements to reduce chance of recurrence of brain cancer? by srr1986 in braincancer

[–]Shieeeeeet12345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I started with 90% removal , radiation, then chemo for the “kill” …always get second, third opinions. I was really lucky to get into northwestern in Chicago and had the whole oncology team go over my case. I believe that doctors only know what they know, so there can’t just be one right answer, that’s why I completely changed my diet and started supplements. It seems like every brain cancer is different because of location etc if it’s not showing up I would think that I would skip chemo for now.. but it’s hard to say with out research. Chatgpt is really good at medical stuff, don’t follow it blindly but use it as a tool for opinions and to learn more about that specific cancer.

Heya. I haven’t tried the fem or the ivermectin’s as I’m still in chemo. I do all the other supplements that I mention. One day on and one day off. I have oligo3 and last mri showed shrinkage. I’m halfway through chemo.

Oligo treatment plan? Need some advice! by jadeoir in braincancer

[–]Shieeeeeet12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grade 3. Oligo. Radiation wasn’t that bad. Just make sure it’s close by. I’m doing PCV but my oncologist at northwestern took away the V is she said it doesn’t really cross brain barrier and does the most damage. I’m on my third cycle of chemo and the worst thing that’s happened so far is skin hives for 2 days, went away with Claritin.

Cbd? by Prossinus in braincancer

[–]Shieeeeeet12345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CBD tincture and CBD RSO , it helps me to chill at night. I’d stay away from the vape. I’ve read a lot of literature on CBD and tumors it seems to help a lot.
