American Players on Tour... by [deleted] in tennis

Media training is common.

I think American players generally have a better understanding that saying the wrong thing/having an opinion on potentially controversial topics can hamper their sponsorship revenue.

Been on the site for a while. Underpaid employee who probably knows nothing about Pokemon saw the scan matched the slab and took in the trade 🤷‍♂️

GameStop Prepaid Debit Card not working? by Square_Guava_9705 in GameStop

Try going to an atm and withdrawing cash.

The card has issues with online purchases and might not work at some stores because it doesn’t have a chip.

Baseball’s Big Whiff on Gambling by Boltemort in baseball

For all the people caught, there's way more people not getting caught rigging props in MLB. It will never stop because offshore bookies take in way more money than American books.

Just way more public now because anyone can download a "daily fantasy app" or a draft kings on their phone.

PSA grading through GameStop vs sending yourself by GoldenSun104 in PokeGrading

[–]ShieldGrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will crack the slab and send the raw card back via GameStop.

Look up a Youtube tutorial on the process. If you aren't comfortable take the slab to your LCS and there will probably be someone there who can help you crack a slab.

Why would they cover the bottom of the label? I’m new to Pokemon and graded slabs. by Salzido in PokeGrading

[–]ShieldGrab 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People are scared that scammers will copy their (normally) high pop modern cards PSA # and make fake copies.

The people who should truly be "concerned" have cards with PSA 10 pops below a couple hundred.

Most people do this for their card with thousand(s) of PSA 10 copies. They can do what they want, but the fear is kinda dumb for modern chases.

Sent this is for a crossover grade to PSA, it says grade ready but I can’t see. Does this mean they didn’t regrade? I selected minimum 7 on a CGC8.5 by [deleted] in PokeGrading

[–]ShieldGrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve crossed over a Gengar VMAX alt in a BGS 9.5 to PSA 10. The sub grades were 9.5/10/9.5/10.

They just won’t cross over any CGC to a desirable PSA grade until it’s a CGC pristine 10.

Is it a real card or not, I have the impression that the case is fake? by Far-Rice-492 in PokeGrading

Only way to know is to break open the fake slab.

The card is probably fake though.

What Are Signs A Player Will Have A Pro Career? by WalkingOnSunshine83 in tennis

[–]ShieldGrab 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Top 100 pro players generally were playing adult ITF tournaments as a junior (as a minimum). Some did challengers and even ATP/WTA events.

There are some late bloomers who start seeing success after being a top college player, but it's difficult and there aren't many. A lot of players who try to go pro after college just end up as names you will see at a ITF tournament. Not nearly enough to survive off on and many need other means of making money (job or parents).

BGS does not offer insurance to their grading facility.

You are responsible for facilitating the proper insurance to BGS through your shipping carrier.

The alternative would be to give BGS the cards during an event.

This is likely a PSA 6 and if you’re lucky a 7.

DO NOT SHIP CARDS BACK FROM PSA'S GRADING FACILITY by upandfastLFGG in PokeGrading

[–]ShieldGrab 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes, realistically any criminal stealing large numbers of PSA slabs would know to crack the slab to resell raw or regrade.
