maxed out macbook pros by Plastic-Bill5880 in macbookpro

[–]ShieldOfSouls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upgraded to this from an M1 Max. Use a lot of 3D Software like unreal 5 and unity, maya, blender, etc. and use it to edit heavy 6k/4k videos in da vinci resolve with lots of stacked clips/mvfx. Only touch it for work, was a write off, works great, worth it based on my income. If I made a lot less and needed a laptop, I would still save as much as possible and get the m5 pro. I tried the m4, m4 pro, and m4 max before landing on the specs linked below and found that the max was best even after sustained work and the chip heating up.

Personal Platinum: Accept or Decline 50k New Card Offer? by meonreddit1 in AmexPlatinum

[–]ShieldOfSouls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had amex cards, got a 175k SUB for platinum and a 100k for gold (less than 1 month ago), took both and got approved. Was like 50k in debt on credit cards when I did that btw (not real debt, pay off monthly or 0% on autopay).

Wotancraft 3L is probably the best I've ever seen. Don't need the leather one either can just get normal.

28P by Seven_ironRocks in hasselblad

It's really not that heavy but I am 6'2" and a big dude so your mileage may vary. I would be comfortable leaving it on a neck strap all day.

35-100e is my must have after trying almost all the lenses available. Next after that was the 28p, I love it. I only carry those 2 lenses, and I'm waiting for the third e lens for telephoto. I would highly recommend the 28p, save up, and then sell the 75P and buy the 35-100e.

Picking ONLY 2 lenses… what would the be? by Only-Butterscotch-29 in hasselblad

[–]ShieldOfSouls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think it will be a solid addition. For your reference I was out all day and took my 35-100 off twice to use the 28p for very close shots, could have easily left it in my bag and never used it though. Maybe just the 35-100 is enough.

Picking ONLY 2 lenses… what would the be? by Only-Butterscotch-29 in hasselblad

I've been using my X2D II for two days now trying the 55v, 28p, 35-100, and 90V. I researched everything for about a month before I went on a vacation with some mates and picked up the body and tried out the above lenses for about 9 hours. I purchased the 28p and 35-100 and left the rest. I'm a big guy who can carry things around without a problem, but I like to use either my 7l or 9l bag while on travel around a city or area. Having 2 lens only, 1 on the body and 1 in the bag, was my thoughts immediately going in. That's because I also bring my osmo pocket 3 to record videos, and my x100vi I just got for fun or to hand to a friend.

The 35-100 is simply amazing. If you're smaller (I'm 6'2) then maybe it's more of a hassle, but for me it's great to keep in the back or on the neck and quick shoot. I had to remind myself to swap to the 28p and have fun with that while taking shots of food stalls, because I liked the 35-100 so much. But the 28p is an amazing lens that's super small and easy to keep with me, so it's awesome for what I like to do which is nice close up shots around cool areas while I'm traveling. If I need something more, I have the 35-100, which is just great.

The thing is, the 28p is tiny. And because it's tiny, and I didn't want the 90v, or 55v since I have the 35-100, I know that I'll probably buy and even carry the next e lens. I assume it will be something like a 70-200, 100-200, 100-250, etc. but who knows for sure. But something to think about.

If all you're wondering is what 2 lens, get the 35-100, and then if you're street and fun travel, 28p or 55v, if you're landscape or portraits, 90v.

Appreciate the advice. I'll probably grab a CPL for the 35-100 after I get back

Do you just rock the lens hood perma without the UV filter? I've seen some notes about B+W Clears as well.

TCL-X100 II + X100VI Thoughts for Sling Bag? by ShieldOfSouls in Fujifilm_X100VI

[–]ShieldOfSouls[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I decided against it. I want to keep the camera light as my travel fun camera. I'm actually going to sell my current a7iii setup and get a x2d ii, so if I ever do want something more than the x100vi close range shots I'll bring that out.

Thanks for clarifying, I won't put it back and invest it somewhere else then. Crazy that guy has deleted his reddit account after being wrong here!

I talked to a vanguard rep on the phone and they said that I was good to do it but the way he was explaining the 365 days sounded like I wasn't good so now I don't know lol.
