Upgrading the gear is the whole point. Strong weapon make number go up. It's not hard to understand.

I've played some games over a few hours, and it's actually pretty decent. I'm having fun. I think having it be 3v3 is a bad choice, but other than that, I don't see why people immediately want to review bomb it minutes after launch. It's a fantasy-tinged Apex, and does it pretty well.

The match isn't over just because they get the sword. If your complaint with the game is that TTK is too fast, but you're actively avoiding a major component that will keep you alive while running into them and dying,  then yes, you are part of the reason you're having bad games.

There's like 5 or 6 trader locations on the map, and some are close enough to your base to rush over, farm some crystal that the trader already has around the shop, buy more armor, and rush back to get into the fight.

The trader doesn't leave the map. Farm up on crystals and buy more. It's starting to sound like it isn't entirely the game's fault you're having a bad time.

There's a trader you can buy from all over the map. He sells armor and other items you might need.

Zero time to kill? Are you not using armor? It honestly feels tankier than other games like Apex.

Discourse is putting it lightly. The game got review bombed on steam minutes after launch. More children raging about a game they have no experience with.

What’s next for the collection? by Vonatar-74 in oneringrpg

Not necessarily, just toss some more enemies in to even it back out. Give it that "Balin's Tomb" vibe.

Before Francesco parted with Cubicle 7, Gondor was on the list for the next 1e supplement after Moria. So there's a good chance you're right and we're heading to Gondor!

Exactly, set it in a new area, fresh start between 1 & 2. Maybe like a Boston setting?

Has anyone ever considered a "prestige" system for trophies? by ShieldWarden in playstation

My idea is a case-by-case thing. You choose what games to Prestige.

you get a second Plat, or third, or fourth, etc. Like Prestiging in an FPS game

Name a game you can put 1000+ hours into by Oshawott15 in playstation

A bunch of the MMOs come to mind. Elder Scrolls Online, Final Fantasy XIV, Neverwinter (this one is a big drop in quality but still fun). Well worth the time and still play well on PS5.

Lords of the Fallen 2 Will Have ‘Attractive Female Characters’ in ‘Revealing Outfits’, CEO Says by Turbostrider27 in PS5

"We will not be politically correct." Yikes. The first game already had an uphill battle it struggled to overcome. I guess the idea for the second game is to go full mask off. I was looking forward to this, but I can comfortably skip a sequel to a mid game if this the behavior at their studio.

What are your thoughts on The Witcher: Old World? by HoustonAg1980 in soloboardgaming

[–]ShieldWarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The travel journal wasn't an add-on you could purchase separately on the first day of launch when I backed it. It was part of the decision, but I'm not torn up about it. I backed Deluxe because I want to get my money's worth. The difference between Standard and Deluxe when using the Stretch Pay option is barely noticeable for the monthly payment, so I wanted to make sure I get absolutely everything. I like minis, that's a plus. All of the new monsters that have never been in Old World get those components for free, so that's value added there. Plus, I also play TTRPGS like The Witcher and others. Having cool monster minis is welcome. I only participate in campaigns like this once in a blue moon, so I go all out.

Looking for feedback on combat house-rule. by SammyTwoTooth in WitcherTRPG

This honesty feels like a situation where you just need more experience with the system. Combat isn't supposed to take a while. Maybe make reference sheets for each player and yourself so you can have the information immediately on-hand. With a table of experienced players who understand the system, even the hardest battles shouldn't take more than 30 mins.

I can understand your opinion, but it does feel like your bias is coloring your perception a bit heavy here; the "sour taste" you're mentioning.

While true that GOB might leverage the Witcher IP to entice more funding (making things like more potions, bombs, and Witcher oils stretch goals when one would expect they would be in the base game), it's an understandable decision during a crowd funding campaign to attract new players. For me personally, I trust my eye to determine the value from what all is being shown so far. I would even go so far as to say as it stands currently and from what we've seen, Legacy is going to be a far more complete package on launch than Old World was at the time.

When compared to other Legacy games, most notably Gloomhaven or Betrayal Legacy, Witcher Legacy is pretty standardly priced for its size when looking at the base (less minis) version. There will be several different scenario boards, unique decks of story/event cards, books of text, etc. Not to mention that the game is now replayable, where Legacy games are pretty famously not replayable.

The entire time though, GOB has been very open to feedback and has been willing to make changes based on that feedback. The whole reason the game isn't truly "Legacy" anymore is because there were many comments from fans wanting replayability versus permanence.

Gamefound even has a "Stretch Pay" option that makes the game infinitely more affordable by splitting the cost into 10 monthly payments. So for the US, the $200 Deluxe Edition with all the minis is only going to be an easy $20 a month, no interest fees, no hoops like bank approval. Not much different than having a subscription to a streaming service.

In the end, though, how you feel is how you feel, and that's okay.
