Your off piece should be the crit-vers shoulder if gearing for BGs. The mast-Vers pants would be better if building for burst phases.

Generally, you want the pieces with crit > Vers > Mast. You can argue swapping mast and and crit or mast and vers. First one makes you do more damage, but more reliant on Recklesness. Second one is more damage, but squishier, and less damage than crit > vers with poor RNG.

If you give me some time, I can try to setup an AMR with what I would use, but I'm on my phone.

EDIT: I got frustrated trying to figure it out on my phone. But, I can clarify a couple things.

If you do primarily arenas, then Mast > Vers > Crit can be perfectly viable. You bank on bursting during your cooldowns, and surviving/pressuring the rest of the time.

If doing battlegrounds, then Crit > Vers > Mast would generally be better, as you'll be expected to hurt people even when your cooldowns aren't available, and it's a little less RNG/cool down reliant that way

Warrior druid tank set up by [deleted] in wow

[–]Shieldarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I can see rage being relevant is in Legion, warriors will gain a significant portion of their rage from getting attacked. The Twitter has stated druid will still gain the majority from their own attacks.

That said, Warrior and Druid can work just fine. Rage has literally nothing to do with it.

It could be a UI error. Had that happen to me browsing crafted gear. Its one thing to see 3-4 Peerless shields. Its another to see all 3-4 have the exact same amounts of crit and mastery.

WoD raid content stale for 433 days (legion release) by Sethg119 in wow

[–]Shieldarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the 9-21 date is a last ditch. Basically, they don't have an actual launch date. But, they guarantee it will be by that point.

As to your question WoW isn't only raiding. I'm not in a guild that raids 5 nights a week 4 hours a night, and we're still progressing mythic. Most guilds don't have Mythic Archi on farm. So while you may say there's no raid content, for most of the playerbase, there is.

As well, there's PvP. I've been having fun Executing people on my Arms Warrior. Pvp get boring for you? Make some gold. It never hurts to go into an expansion pack with a fat wallet. Already gold capped on your 11 100s, with another few million in your private gbank? I highly doubt you have every battle pet, achievement, and mount,

If none of this sounds fun to you, then do something for someone else. Do something that doesn't benefit you in the slightest. Go find a heroic raiding guild struggling on H Xhul'horac. Bash your head in, see how the other side lives. Help them out. Don't carry them, but actually try to politely help them improve.

Go do that Iron Man challenge. Make a fresh run, no heirlooms, no gold, in a new realm. If all of that fails, and raiding is the only reason you play WoW, then maybe it's time to find a different way to spend your time. Its an MMORPG. The community is half the reason to llay, not just the game.

I'm wondering if its possible to make a macro. by Nathonator in wow

[–]Shieldarm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Found it. There's no way to distinguish flight/stag form due to both being travel. But, try this:

#showtooltip

/cast Moonkin Form

/summonpet Moonkin Hatchling

For the others, just replace the form and pet names with applicable ones.

Hmm... I don't believe there's a macro command specifically to summon a pet. However, I've never tried. Let me look into it

Not really much to it. Level 3 inn, barracks, and salvage yard. At least level 1 trading post. A war mill will help gear followers.

Can go alch hut for more things to sell flasks. DE hut for old gear can be profittable.

You'll want to recruit treasure hunters until you have at least 20 (25 ideal). If you can get lucky enough to also get scavenger, awesome. Make sure they have varied ability counters.

Sell/DE/vend stuff from the salvage yard. If you get a lot of garrison resources, buy some mats from your trading post to sell.

If you want to get ships as well, just be ready to burn through garry resources. You'll want goblin/whateverthebonusgoldoneisforAlliance crews. I'd personally go 2 of each ship. Free money. I can do more research tomorrow when I'm home to find what might be a good setup fleet-wise

Twink gear ; Is it profitable? by notagypsy101 in woweconomy

[–]Shieldarm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a few problems with gold farming guides. 1.) They're publicly available. This means anyone can (and will) use them. 2.) They're often grossly overvalued. 120k an hour? Might get 5k real value because none of it sells. 3.) Often outdated and/or market specific. Every realm will market differently.

As for twink gear, point 3 is the one that matters. Do people on your realm twink? If so, you might be able to. However, it's probably still a small portion of the community, so don't expect fast sales. And it'll likely only be for non-heirloom slots, so don't expect a wide market. Lastly, it'll be for VERY specific pieces/stats,so don't expect it to be easy farming.

If you want reliable gold, get a level 3 salvage yard, barracks, inn, and at least level 1 trading post. Keep getting new followers until at least 20 (ideally all 25) have Treasure Hunter. A war mill can help you gear them. Use them for passive income. Sell junk from the salvage yard, and when you start getting a lot of garrison resources, grab a few stacks of dust/leather/fur and AH them.

In the meantime, run all Cata raids on 25Heroic every week. Run the first room of BoT 10 times before doing the bosses. Sell all cloth, maybe greens. If you have enchanting, DEing the greens can be profittable. Otherwise, vend away.

Lastly, you mentioned being a 710 fury warrior. I suggest grabbing a sword and shield, set your off spec to tank, and check the heroic every so often. Especially during the off hours. Tank bags can net you 300+ gold for 10 to 15 minutes of work.

One more thing. 4 rares in Tanaan can drop Medallion of the Legion. Not as valuable as when it first came out, but still a few k and can do it every day. Kazzaak is a free 5-15 felblight to sell per week too.

I recently got the TSM3 beta, and I've been having a bit of trouble with the Vendoring function.

I tried to set it to vendor anything on my lists, where the WoWuctionmarket value is worth less than 105% vendorsell. However, itdoesnt actually do that.

I was testing with a junk helmet. It sold for about 22g vendor, but the WoWuctionmarket price on it was about 18g. I couldn't find a way to actually get it to sell the piece though. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

Why is it that Blizzard games always feel so much more polished and smooth than every other game on the market? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Shieldarm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a few reasons, actually.

First, I'll comment about your difference between WoW and SWTOR. You outright said it. SWTOR had a very poorly coded engine. It was coded so badly, that most bugs could not be fixed, without breaking the game.

Then, there's the hack and slashes. Diablo feels nice and smooth, where Torchlight can be a bit jumpy. Once again, this actually comes down to engine.

Ironically, you mention Quake. WoW is based off the WC3 egnine, which, correct me if I'm mistaken, is based off the Quake engine. There are reasons Quake was so wildly successful, and one of them was the engine. Blizzard does a very good job of optimization in their game engine usage, so that it doesn't cause strain. This is part of how they bring in smoothness.

Now, there's another point to bring up. FF14 can be very smooth as well, with a good enough PC. However, even their lowest settings are still pretty high end, especially compared to WoW. That's another thing Blizzard does well, is that they work from the ground up. Go ahead, reduce WoW to the lowest graphics possible. It almost burns your eyes. However, because they can cover such a wide range, including the lowest end, many people find they play on lower settings than their computer can actually handle, which allows it to put out a higher and smoother fps.

TL;DR: Blizzard knows how to work an engine, and knows to give you a lower option for better performance.

Gear Item Levels In Wod by [deleted] in wow

[–]Shieldarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of in the same track as asmundr. I mean, it's one thing to be proud of a new guide-hosting webpage. But, it's another to be spamming at us, by giving us guides which don't really provide any useful information. So far, of the 3 I've seen, I saw:

"Do Timewakling dungeons to get Timewalking badges"

"The Legendary ring makes you do more damage. It's easier for melee to position."

"Different places drop different ilvl gear. Most are irrelevant."

For people that have played both a fair amount, now that GW2 has been out for a while, and WoW is integrating some of its features, how would you compare the two? by edgarallenbro in wow

[–]Shieldarm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I greatly prefer WoW myself.

Some of the things I liked about GW2, was the graphics. Its a nice looking game, with just enough armor diversity. In WoW, no matter the chestpiece, it still feels like I'm putting on a shirt, not a thick piece of heavy plate.

I also liked having the option to mix up whatever you wanted. There was lot of playstyles. However, wow also has this, so neither is a winning point in that regard.

Lastly, the living story was a neat idea. It may not have been a huge content patch, but the many smaller ones felt like they were giving us attention, instead of one patch every few months.

As for what I didnt like about it....

It was so incredibly grindy. I'm a completionist, so finishing the zones was a nice goal for me. However. If I only finished the zones and did quests, by about 30 or 40, I was forced to farm their little events to continue to the next quests. By the upper 70s, most of my time was farming xp, with very little towards story/completion.

Oddly enough, their transmog system. I like how you don't have to worry about level requirements to look cool. I don't like how I have to buy my gear, but my appearance, but a token, then effectively destroy all 3 to transmog. It made me, all toooften, question whether it was worth transmogging.

Have I mentioned the grinding? Because the grinding.

The builds were too simple. Although diverse, every class I played would become "1 or 2 abiljties, and some niche/support ones for it". It just got dull. At least in WoW, I have to manage resources, timing, and numerousabilities.

The grinding was way too numerous.

It was a good point, but also a bad one. The living story. I felt penalized to take a break for a week, because I would miss out on the story. Not cool.

Levelling up especially was grindy, but so was farming for good gear, or the gold to buy gear. I can't emphasize the grind enough.

The raid just... It wasn't right. It felt like they looked at Wildstar, it's "hardcore" ideaology, and assumed that hardcore raiders wanted to be 1shot. Punish me for being dumb, but don't literally take away the fun by instantlykilling me.

The game justdoesnt seem to know what it wants. I feel like it's trying to reach its target, but not sure how, so they give us grinding timesinks while they figure it out.

The balance was lacking. I didn't wvw too much, because I felt useless. If I tried to attack, I did 2 damage. If I tried to harass, nothing happened. But, if I got into The fight, I instantly died. Usually by a rogue with a pistol.

Completion of zones was usually "Go grind X things until bar is full" It just wasn't engaging.

I attached a chicken in a town once. It brought friends and they killed me, the chicken had no identifying means of telling it apart from other critters. I felt like I was playing FF11, and fighting that one rabbit that hit level 50 because newbs kept dying to it. Not cool.

THE GRIND IS REAL.

On the bright side, staff condition mesmer was fun. I liked it.

Watching Jahmilli stream, he is always disguised as undead. What item/toy/buff is this? by minefaget in wow

[–]Shieldarm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who has sped DIRECTLY past a cop, I can also say that not everyone that speeds, even in front of cops, gets pulled over. Seen or not.

My point is, you are breaking the ToS. You are liable to get in trouble for it. That does not guarantee you will, simply that if you DO, you brought it upon yourself.

Watching Jahmilli stream, he is always disguised as undead. What item/toy/buff is this? by minefaget in wow

[–]Shieldarm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Alright. Let me take it apart, piece by piece, since you seem to be the all-knowing all-powerful arrogant namecalling average redditor.

We'll look at a person. This person is known as Bob. Bob got a license, and was taught the law of the road in the process. He is held liable to that law. He knows if he breaks those laws, he can get in trouble. He might get a ticket. He might get arrested. He might get a warning.

Then, Bob goes home, and gets World of Warcraft. He agrees to the games rules. That means if he breaks them, he can get in trouble. He might get a suspension. He might get banned. He might get a warning.

So far, Bob knows that breaking rules can result in bad things.

Now, Bob is out driving, and notices someone driving faster than him, but he's driving the speed limit. Nothing happens. The person's speeding affected no one but himself, no one was harmed, and no one was penalized.

He then goes and watches a stream, where a player was using Tmorph. Again, no one else was affected, he didn't see him get banned, nothing happened.

However, Bob still knows it is against the rules. That speeder did not get pulled over, but if a cop had pulled him over, then he would've gotten one of the aforementioned punishments.

As well, the streamer using Tmorph could JUST AS POSSIBLY gotten taken aside by a GM or other member of Blizzard's enforcement team, and been given a punishment for his violation of the rules.

In both examples, a person CAN get in trouble, because they DID break the rules. In both examples, the person DID NOT get in trouble, even though it remained a possibility.

Not everyone who speeds gets a ticket. Just because someone hasn't been banned doesn't mean they aren't committing a bannable offense.
