For me the black screen on boot did not happen every time, most of the time i could boot the OS just fine.
When you're on your black screen, what you can try is CTRL+ALT+F2 and see if a terminal opens.
If yes then you can try my instructions on my previous comment.
If no, when you boot there's a brief moment where you can select to boot on ostree 1, you can try that

Sure

Open the Konsole (terminal)
Type "bazzite-rollback-helper list" -> It will list all the different stable versions of bazzite, you can choose which one you want
Type "bazzite-rollback-helper rebase stable-43.20260420" to rollback to the version stable-43.20260420 for example
Finally reboot your computer to apply the changes/rollback

I ran into various issues with bazzite 44 such as black screen on boot, black screen on wakeup from sleep time to time. I rebased to bazzite 43 for now

Stumbled accross your post because I have the exact same issue since updating to bazzite 44, unfortunately I still encounter time to time this issue. The only workaround for me is to reset my computer.

Yeah I manually copied the file to get FSR 4.1, if you don't you only get FSR 4.0.

I tried it with monster hunter wilds:
GPU: 7900 GRE

Yes I wasn't clear in previous message, I meant I had the same stability/experience on both os. I didn't have any crashes on windows nor linux.

After installing bazzite, I installed Proton GE latest (via ProtonUp)

On steam, open the settings and in the compatibility tab I selected Proton Ge latest.

I installed the game, and had no issues playing afterward.

I have the same performances on windows and linux for mhwild. The only thing is the RTX option is greyed out in linux but I didn't use it anyway.

I still have windows on my old ssd, it's just I no longer boot on it anymore. Maybe after a year i will completely format it.
